This last weekend of ministry left me very fatigued and tired. I’ve been having a hard time getting the basic of things done. I usually study at night but I have been falling asleep with my books and the laptop open. The administrative stuff was harder to take care of Sunday through today. And there’s things I do need to do for this upcoming week: Email those of you who want to write guest posts sometime later in the fall, the agendas for our Church meeting with parents to discuss children ministry and youth group (which I also need to have someone translate into another language!) and also the routine teachings throughout the week.
But in the midst of this I had a long talk with my daughters over lunch just now.
They had so many questions about many things in life and the world.
It was actually refreshing. For both myself and the kids.
It made me think about how it is important that in the midst of so much we do with tasks and activities we must not forget the importance of relationship. of being personal. And to make it less abstract, the importance of our relationship to our family.
For those with kids, we need to remember that.
They do have questions and if we don’t answer them someone else will.
True! Same thing with morals if it isn’t being taught by parents they will learn “Morals” from others
You are so right Jim, it is important to listen and talk with our kids…even when they are older like our two. My next two blogs are about family relationships.
May our Father God guide you and restore your health/energy, Amen. 🙏
Thanks for your prayers that means a lot. Will slowly get back to blog reading I am a few days behind
You sound like a blessing to have as a father figure.
Aww thanks sister!
I love that picture! 🙂
Thanks Mark! Appreciate much of your photography on your blog!
Beautiful post. Totally agree. As parents, they look up to us a lot, and will always prefer we answered their questions. At the moment, I have a 7 yr old who would ask about anything, even what he already knows 😅😅
Aww how precious. God bless you sister!
I’m always here to help be a burden bearer for y’all, just let me know!
Mandy your help has been immensely helpful with the youth. I think often how Linda would benefit from seeing you know the Scripture
It is good to talk with our sons and daughters. May you get the rest you need. Blessings!
amen to that
This is a reminder for dads everywhere
Praying for your endurance. Yup, it’s important to keep communicating with our children, young and old. Importance of relationship. So important. Our sons are unbelievers yet they are still watching me and listening to me.
Prayed for both our children; thanks for your prayers; good night for now!
Thank you and Good Morning! as you read this.
I am praying with you brother. Thanks for you wonderful example for all of us.
I have often wondered how you do all you do. I was a teacher in a Christian School, it’s athletic director, and the high school youth director. It was eventually too much and it must have been obvious because a church leader approached me and asked which “position” would be best to take away as part of my responsibilities. I had to drop the youth group which my wife eventually picked up and did at no cost but the responsibility was off of me and it helped.
I will be praying for you that God gives you the strength that you need to do what has to be done and the wisdom to know if there might be some area where you can pull back a bit.
God’s blessings to you and your family, Pastor Jim.
Amen.
And amen have a blessed day today Maw Maw!!
I did and Blessings to you.
Communication with our children and grandchildren is so important, regardless of age.
May the Lord bless you with peace and rest .
A big amen to that Crissy, amen!
Life can get busy sometimes but we must make time for our children. Your family is more important than your job. This is a timely reminder. Thanks for sharing.
Amen! Super amen to this sister
Amen brother. May the Lord continue to give you strength, wisdom, and relationship building as you pastor and lead the flock of God. May the Lord give you wisdom to be a great Dad and leader for your family. Blessings!
God bless you I pray the same for you and your ministry Chad
