This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Share appreciation for those who serve with church financial book keeping
The last few week’s Sunday post probably reveal to readers that the church I pastor is small. That means its also hard to have deacons that can do the financial book-keeping.
We currently have a young man doing that role. He originally had no desire to do it. But there’s a need. So he prayed about it and have been serving this capacity since August. It isn’t easy. I personally am not a fan of book-keeping for organizations (personal finance as stewards is something else).
So I’m grateful for this brother’s service.
I think we too should be thankful for those who do financial book keeping in your church.
Let them know today and say “Thank you.” I think people can often thank the Pastor more often than the person doing financial book keeping as the deacon, financial officer, accountant, etc. Let’s not forget those brothers or sisters who serve in this capacity.

Excellent suggestion brother. It is a difficult job with zero tolerance for any inaccuracy.

Hopefully two people count the money.
Yes our church has two that count the offering, and expenditures used is through check which is signed off by two people too, one is our senior pastor and the second is the other person that does the counting that isn’t the brother I mentioned who does the booking records. I guess I simplified the process and focused on the one who did the book keeping!
😊
Amen and Amen.
And amen. Have a blessed Son Day!
You also.
Good exhortation! It’s a thankless job and not many are naturally inclined to it, except for spreadsheet nerds.
Yes indeed it is thankless and not necessarily glorious work

A good reminder because we do take such adminstrative work for granted, don’t we? 🙏

Amen I can easily take administrative work for granted; may we be more aware of those who do the work!!!
God bless those with this gift as I sure don’t have it
Great point Pastor Jim! Years ago, I served my small church with this same role. We definitely need to appreciate and pray for those who serve in this vital capacity.
Thanks for sharing that BSB, did the church rotate people doing that role or was it seen as something one does until they well quit? Curious!
God bless your small church with big faith
Thank you brother for your word of blessings; I commented on one of your post on John 4’s geographical location; hope it went through and wasn’t caught under spam!
This is great, we often don’t remember these individuals of our church until something goes wrong. Thank you for sharing SlimJim 😊🙏
Book keepers are necessary for such organizations. They need to be trustworthy. May they be led by the Holy Spirit (as may all of us).
Amen may they be led by the Spirit!!!
