This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Express Gratitude for those who pick up the elderly to Church.
Our church use to have a ministry where the church van would pick up members from the elderly homes to church. I think those who do such a ministry should get some encouragement and appreciation.
Maybe your church don’t have that ministry (we do not any more at this time). Still I imagine there are people who individually pick up members who are older to go to church. Or maybe it might be a family member picking up an elderly family member to go to your church.
No matter the situation, take a time this Sunday to express your appreciation for what they do.
Today’s mega church can easily focus on the young, or young families. But if we are doing church right Lord willing it be multigenerational. And we should see those who are older in our congregation as a blessing. And we therefore as implication also should appreciate those who bring the elderly to our church.

Thanks for this good exhortation! I appreciate your heart in this because (as you’ve heard from me before) I experienced firsthand a mega-seeker-church situation where older attenders were viewed as a liability and a drag on the hip image.
Wow that must have not been easy with that experience. I am younger and I mused don’t feel comfortable with hipster church. I do love churches that teach the Bible and is also multigenerational!!!
I appreciate your view on hipster church. Our seeker mega-church experience was a valuable lesson on what church shouldn’t be like.
Amen. Amen. Amen. This is a great message and reminder for congregations. Have a blessed Sunday.
Have a blessed Sunday too sister Tangie!!!
Great reminder brother. Have a blessed Sunday in ministry. God is with you.
Shalom!

Large churches used to have that ministry in particular with buses, etc. but I’m not seeing that anymore. I wonder if it has anything to do with potential lawsuits? If so, what a shame! Praise God for individuals who do this great ministry on their own initiative by God’s grace!
Yea I wonder why did it stopped all across the board? Probably lawsuits and probably also less people wanting to go to church sadly…
We have a man that picks up elderly and brings them to church. I think the elderly really want to come (not being forced, LOL), but one Sunday, he parked behind our car. The lady was using a walker and was rather slow getting to her pew. We left after Sunday school due to my wife not feeling well, to find that we had no way to get out of our parking space. The door man realized who it was and went to find him. It was a short wait, and we actually laughed about it, but the rear entrance has a pull out to drop off people and the guy didn’t use it. If I catch the guy today, I will thank him for his efforts.
Wow that made me think of our chruch parking lot years ago when we had this ministry. God bless you for thanking him for his ministry picking people up! Have a blessed Lord’s day sir!
Amen. Blessings.
Blessings to you Maw Maw!!

I agree that the church should be “multigenerational” focusing on family relationships.
Amen brother F!
Amen!! We should honor our elderly and this is a great way to do it. Many of them, like my mom, can no longer drive.
Amen may we honor and see them as important part of the body and may we serve them!!

Thanks brother. It has been a very interesting journey as I have been in charge of picking up and taking a older widow to church for about a couple years. Definitely a sanctification process!
Wow was this with your past church or current church?
Sorry for the late reply. This is my current church. 👍
Amen! There are countless ways to serve, and this task is a blessed one for both the passenger and driver.
I remember when I was little my parents, and I would stop to pick up an elderly lady on our way to church. Your message reminded me of this memory. There are so many ways to serve Jesus by serving others.
Wow thanks for sharing those memories of spiritual services!
Excellent advice and so true! 💜♥️💜
Aww thanks sister! Hope your Saturday is going well!
Thank you for this post SlimJim 🤗. Praise God for being able to drive, to have a car, and to pick others up for church.
