What’s the chance there are two conferences in the fall of 2022 dedicated to Presuppositional Apologetics and the contribution of Greg Bahnsen?
This is not to be confused with the Bahnsen conference in Southern California I posted on a few weeks ago that celebrates the life of Greg Bahnsen, a pastor, theologian and apologist for the Christian faith. This one is in Indiana.
Bahnsen is one of the apologist that influenced me the most.
These are the videos:
Schedule:
October 21, 2022
6:30 pm – Welcome and Introduction to the Bahnsen Institute
6:45 pm – “The Life and Ministry of Greg Bahnsen” by Roger Wagner
7:20 pm – Break
7:40 pm – “The Continued Need and Usefulness of Bahnsen’s Apologetic” by Alan Strange
8:35 pm – Question & Answer
9:00 pm – Dismissal
Speakers:
Roger Wagner, Pastor of Bayview OPC in Chula Vista, CA and personal friend of the late Dr. Bahnsen.
Dr. Alan D. Strange, professor of apologetics at Mid-America Reformed Seminary and associate pastor of First OPC of South Holland, South Holland, IL.
Thanks for this Pastor, Jim. I listened to the first video and it was very interesting. Enough so that I’m going to listen to the debate that Greg Bahnsen had with Gordon Stein.
Wow praise God! THe first time I heard Bahnsen’s debate I didn’t understand what was going on; it has become the one debate I listened to the most and learn from the most! Enjoy!
Thanks, Pastor Jim. It was very interesting. I will have to go back and listen to it again as enough of it went over my head to require a second hearing.
Pastor Bahnsen certainly seemed to do very well.
Hey, what’s this trip all about? Understand if you desire to keep it on the QT.
We’re still recovering, thanks. My wife’s doctor thinks we have RSV which takes a long time to recover. My wife has a nightly cough that sounds like a dying person. Other than that just doing little chores. Finally finished wallpapering the powder room yesterday.
What a treat! Thanks so much for sharing. Hope your week is going well brother! It must get especially busy during the Christmas season with church and family. Praying for you. 🙂🙏
Greetings Dora! My family and I are actually on a break…don’t think I ever take vacation in December but we did and we are out of state! I imagine things are also busy for you Dora? Will slowly get to reading blogs again sometime this week!
Bahnsen is definitely relevant today. The point Decartes makes about how if I am capable of doubting, it is proof that I exist, and that is somehow a starting point. But Bahnsen points out how absurd this is. Doubting merely exhibits that doubting is happening, not the original source of the doubting. Radical skepticism paints itself into a corner, man’s ultimacy cannot be a reliable axiom.
There is a clarity of thought in presuppositional apologetics that you just don’t find anywhere else.
Glad you see the problem of Cartesian epistemology; the man-centered approach to philosophy is deeply problematic in so many ways! Blessings to you James, grateful for your fellowship and being in our study!
Have a break from class for about a month so I am going to try to check these out
Nice! Enjoy your break! Thanks for dropping by even with your break time, Which is precious!!!
Thanks, brother. I intend to the break and use some of the time to do a little blogging.
Thank you for this.
You are welcome dear Maw Maw! How goes your week so far?
Am going to do paper work for heart ablation the 15th. Will let you know about surgery date. Love in Christ Jesus.
Wow praying; praying ahead of time for the surgery
Thank you. Blessings.
Always appreciate Bahnsen resources. Thanks brother.
What a double treat!

I hear Bahnsen is a good intro to Van Til
He is a good intro
