This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Talk to a youth about the incarnation.
Incarnation can sound like a big theological term.
But it simply means God the Son as the Second Member of the Trinity, has become fully man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is both God and Man.
This is important fundamentals doctrine of Christianity.
There are mysteries. How can God become a man?
Still this is something Christians are to believe. Yet you might be surprised at how sometimes youths at church don’t even know about this. So it might be worthwhile to talk about this. Use Christmas or post-Christmas time as a great segway to ask kids what do they understand about the birth of Jesus. After hearing them then instruct according to the child’s age!
Merry Christmas Pastor Jim, Nancy, and kids! ✨️
Merry Christmas Kent! I hope you had a good one!!!

Excellent brother. That is good news! God is with us.
Shalom!
[…] This Sunday at Church: Talk to a Youth about the Incarnation links to a post with good advice. Use Christmas as a teaching moment. Many get caught up in the fact that Pagans constantly try to turn Christmas into a Pagan holiday. That is no reason to damn Christmas. The Bible tells us to rejoice in all things. All things would most certainly include the birth of our Savior. […]
Merry Christmas Jim!
Merry Christmas! Good reminder: “God the Son as the Second Member of the Trinity, has become fully man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is both God and Man.”
And amen!
Merry Christmas dear friend and may God continue to bless you in the new year .
Thanks for your kind words. Merry Christmas sister!!! Hope it is going well today

Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Regarding this post, it’s not just the youth who may be unfamiliar with “the Incarnation”. I recall after I first came to faith at ~40 being absolutely dumbfounded as I read the doxology on the back of the church pamphlet, which essentially described the Trinity. According to my ignorance, ‘There is ONE GOD, and he ain’t Jesus!’ In a temporary state of cognitive dissonance, I regained my senses and sought to attain consonance: either this claim is Biblically true, or ‘I’m outta here!’. I didn’t want to belong to some cult! Thus began my quest to seek Christian truth, which included trying to learn NT Greek…
Wow thanks for sharing your journey into nt greek! Grateful you are on WordPress with your specialized Greek Geek contribution!
Super important! And it might seem obvious, but it’s really not. I didn’t grow up in the church, but the few times that I did go to a church as a child/teen, no one ever explained this simple truth to me. And I wish someone had!
Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for sharing that; it shows how important it is to share with young ones! Merry Christmas!!!
We as a church need to beware of doing a better job teaching kids
Thanks for this good exhortation to keep the focus on the incarnation of Jesus Christ, which is overwhelmed by the commercialization of the season.
True. Over the decades you probably saw it got more commercialized this time of year??
Yup, as society became increasingly secularized over the decades, Christmas has lost its connections to the incarnation of Christ in the minds of many.
How was your Christmas celebration yesterday? We had a good time with family and dinner. Got to say a pre-dinner prayer so at least reminding them of Jesus. Power went out in the neighborhood today so waiting for a fix. At least it warmed up to 25F today instead of the single digits we’ve had.
People don’t talk about it enough! Good message!
Agreed! How did your Christmas go?
It was excellent, a well needed break! I pray yours was too?
Excellent prayer point as usual Brother Jim. Keep up the good work and may God strengthen you and your ministry.
I pray that you will receive love and joy this Christmas season and in the New Year. Thank you for your kind support throughout this year and I am looking forward to see you next year.
Thank you for this encouraging comment!! How did your Christmas go???
You are welcome 😊. I had a quiet but lovely Christmas. I hope yours were wonderful
Nice post
Thank you for reading this post!
Welcome 🤗
Sharing God’s Word with others is always a blessed time. Peace be with you!
I find it strange that your young people are not taught separately from the adults.
We do both (separate and things together with adults)
Glad to hear it.
Did you or one of your daughters paint this gorgeous picture, Jimmy?
It was actually computer Artificial Intelligence generated art by a friend; this was by a friend who downloaded some ap and he said he was going to make a church image by typing certain specifications and he said I can use it for the blog; have you heard about this AI-art?
It’s beautiful! I have never heard of Al-art. Perhaps I can look it up.
