I’ve appreciated a year ago his Van Til’s Trinitarian Theology: Reformed or Revisionist? Lectures by Lane Tipton

Thoughts on Decrease of Blog Views Over the Years

Two fellow bloggers posted this yesterday: A Mysterious Drop in Views – Year 2 and Was It Something I Said?

I have also noticed the decrease of blog views since 2020 with every year having less views.  Yet I also want to balance that to say that God has been tremendously gracious with the blog Veritas Domain with its reach and interactions with people.

I want to add some further thoughts on why this might be happening, why I still blog and what I try to do to support others.

Devotional: Giving and Doing Things from the heart for God in Exodus 35:4-29

This will be a busy weekend of ministry for me (youth group on Saturday morning, Berkhof sytematic theology in the evening, still prepping for Sunday sermon and also servant meeting at church for Sunday).

Foolish Objections against Christianity in light of 1 Corinthians 1:18-20

Yesterday I wrote my post “Bible Contradiction? Did Paul go to Jerusalem immediately after his conversion? and from the comments I thought about how I have heard this alleged contradiction has actually been brought up many times including when I was in college by a professor.

Then today I saw this clip from the son of a famous preacher, and this son apostated from Christianity.  These days he’s making videos attacking Christianity.

Bible Contradiction? Did Paul go to Jerusalem immediately after his conversion?

 

For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: Did Paul go to Jerusalem immediately after his conversion?

Here are the two answers which the skeptic believes shows a Bible contradiction:

Yes

“When he came to Jerusalem, he tried repeatedly to associate with the disciples; and yet they were all afraid of him, as they did not believe that he was a disciple.” (Acts 9:26)

No

“to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to Damascus.” (Galatians 1:16-17)

Psalm 40 is Messianic

Establish the need: Is this Psalm Messianic? Many Bible scholars seems to think it is not, but what about you?

Purpose: In this session we will see three points concerning this Psalm’s Messianic character so that we would be at awe with God.

Apologetics Sermon Illustration #83: First Marine Division History and alleged Bible Contradiction

GO TO PART 82

Point: Sometimes when one engage in apologetics the issue of alleged Bible contradiction comes up and the example given of a Bible contradiction really isn’t a Bible contradiction but an instance where one account gives lesser detail than another account.  Think for instance of those who raise the question “How many men were possessed with demons at the country of the Gadarenes?”  Are there examples we can give in other areas outside of the Bible of how such a tactic to claim there’s a Bible contradiction is problematic?

Review: Batman: The Detective

Pastors also need a break from heavy theological reading!  So here’s a Batman comic book review!

I have not read much of Batman comics from DC Comics that was published since 2020 since like many things with post 2020 things have gotten weird but I made an exception with this comic book and I’m glad I did read this one on Batman the detective with the story by Tom Taylor.  I enjoyed it since many Batman comics is heavily about fighting action rather than a “mystery” story, which is interesting since Batman is supposed to be a detective of sorts.  But this story here is a detective story where Batman is trying to solve a mystery of whose behind a certain rampage of crime and murder.
