This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for those who are engaged to be married.
This past week we had a couple over for pre-marital counseling. I consider it a privilege and serious responsibility with faciliating this as a pastor.
But it got me thinking: What a privlege if the Church can pray for those who are engaged!
Pray for them to be pure in their conduct before Marriage.
Pray for them to grow to love one another.
Pray for them to grow to love the Lord!
Pray for their future marriage would be strong.
Pray for them to work through things before marriage.
Pray for their wedding plan.
And pray with them and ask them for prayers!

Thanks for this good exhortation! Engaged couples need our prayers and support, with society (and our own sin nature) pushing its “what’s in it for me” and “I don’t deserve this” version of marriage.

Outstanding outreach! Praying for those couples contemplating marriage as husband and wife. This includes a nephew and his future bride (wedding in May).
