This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for Church’s Pastoral Search Committee.
A few weeks ago for Sunday I had a post on “Pray for churches you know looking for a Pastor.”
While it is important to pray for that I also think it is important to pray for the committee of a church that is looking for a pastor.
These individuals in the committee need to make important decision concerning the direction of the church.
They also need to be biblical; its so easy to be pragmatic, compromising biblically, etc., just to “hire someone.”
Now I don’t think everyone in a pastoral search committee would be like that; but it can be a real temptation especially the longer it takes trying to find a pastor.
So how important is it to pray for those in a church’s pastoral search committee.
If this is your church, pray!
If you know of a church searching for a pastor, pray also as well.

Good exhortation. I am praying. I witnessed a pastoral search committee use the wrong criteria in searching for a candidate.
You indeed have. What a nightmare that is for the church and even those who are outside the church to hear about it on the news. It’s slightly snowing here; how’s the weather for you all up north?
No new snow overnight but we still have a lot on the ground. I do see a couple of mid-50s temps in the 10-day forecast so that’s encouraging.
Our church is looking for a youth pastor right now. That position is extremely important.
I just prayed for that for the church to find the pastor for the role

Unless you have been on such a committee you can’t imagine the responsibility. Not every one will be pleased no matter how much time is spent .

Praying for these blessed believers who accept the duty of searching for a pastor. Many years ago, I was blessed to be a member of a pastoral search committee. The journey with other committee members shared the collective grace received from the Lord.
Wow I imagine it wasn’t easy in the committee with a pastoral search!
Very important, especially for smaller churches without a strong leadership ship team.
