This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for the Church to be united Biblically.
I think today’s world often stress shallow unity. Sometimes the church can imitate the world where its the idea of unity at any cost, even with the sacrifice of sound biblical doctrines.
That’s unfortunate.
Still we should not be so reactionary that we think all unity is bad. Afterall the Bible teaches the importance of unity in the church among true Christians.
Colossians 3:14 states “In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.“
Note how unity happen require love.
So we should pray for unity. We should pray for unity as it is motivated by Christian love.
And we should pray to put this in practice then go out and live it out among the brethren.
Amen?

And amen! Thanks for the likes and comment!
Thanks for the good exhortation! Yes, we should strive for Biblical Christian unity. As you mention, many have misguidedly created a shallow unity by embracing false denominations and sects and thereby undermining the Gospel.
Indeed there has been many false unity undermining the Gospel. May we be United together for the Gospel against this false unity amen??
Amen! Yes, unity in the genuine Gospel means separating from false, pseudo-Christian gospels. Ecumenists don’t get this.
Thanks for the great suggestion for prayer. Love leads to unity. That is a real deal.
Shalom!
Amen thanks for reading and praying this

Also from Col, unity under the HEAD.
“Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.”

That’s an appropriate passage to add to this post. Thanks for sharing. How is your Son + Day so far?
YW! “Son + Day” – I like that. 😊 I had a chance to share this post on the big screens at church today, and handed out quite a few sheets. 😊
Agree, unity among TRUE Christians. Ironically, there is disagreement as to what constitutes a true Christian. (*sigh*)
I visited a church this morning that preached about the End Times, and I was agreeing with it all … until the pastor claimed that any translation of the Bible that wasn’t King James was from the pit of hell. **SIGH.**
Wow yikes. That probably would sink me down hearing that sermon…sigh. Seems this prayer in this post is much needed!
Love is the perfect bond of unity.
Amen it is. Amen!
Amen, a much needed prayer! 🙏
And amen Jerome! Thanks for reading this!!!
I have talked about church division in some of my past posts. The pandemic really opened a lot of division in the American Church. We should strive as much as we can to be Biblically unified. Satan wants the church divided. Before there can be church unity, Christians have to repent of their anger towards one another. There are too many people in the church sadly who avoid each other and borderline hate one another. Repentance and reconciliation is the 1st step
True, repentance and reconciliation is first step
Amen!
And amen!
Amen! Jesus encourages us to pray for unity within the Church. He teaches that believers gather as a single body in Christ. The journey ahead will be challenging, but by keeping the Lord’s teachings out front through our thoughts and actions–we can take another step forward each day.
Amen one step each day at a time!
Amen
And amen!
