I don’t want to make this to be political.
But it is sad that with a shooting that people can still blame Christian victims.
How sad things have gotten.
If the suspect is a Christian they would blame Christians and Christianity.
If the victims are Christians people can still blame Christians and Christianity; or even blame Christianity.
It made me think of Isaiah 5:20:
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who [a]substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who [b]substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!“
These are crazy days.
I think Christians need to be prepared for more persecutions. Both in quantity and numbers of oppressive acts.
Pray.
What you say,Jim, is true and the day is quickly coming when the slightest inference to Christianity will cause offence to many within our populace. Pray indeed. Blessings.
Reminded of Mark 13:33, ““Watch out, stay alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is.” AND 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Blessings today!
Amen sister we need to remember these verses
Agree “These are crazy days. Pray” without ceasing
Amen may we pray without ceasing amen sister
These sort of problems are a direct consequence of not making certain that we raised our children in the faith. We put politicians and government bureaucrats in charge of teaching our children. In large metropolitan areas, most people don’t know the school board members, and many don’t even bother to meet their children’s teachers. Many don’t even take the time look at what their children are being taught. In fact, the most popular history book in the country was written by a communist.

You are right in your comment! Parents need to exercise their responsibilities with their children and not just outsource it to others and worst of all to the state! Howard Zinn and his infamous book has a horrible agenda.
These types of stories of Christians being blamed or persecuted for what passes as crazy logic are on the increase. I have lost count of the accounts of Christians or evangelists being arrested and dragged to court in the UK for the most unbelievable stuff. Most recently a hospital chaplain was asked for his opinion on same sex relationships only for the questioner to turn on him and sue him, the hospital Trust sided with the patient and sacked the chaplain. That is the world we live in. I am convinced that such cases will only become more bold and more frequent in the near future.
I am praying for the UK; it seems these days the horrible events in the West are picking up pace, as well as in other parts of the world. In these dark days we need to share the Gospel
Thank you brother, and I am praying for you and your nation too. 🙏
Gotta agree, Jim! I’ve seen such radical decline of moral standards in the past 50 years (not to mention twisted spins of truth in our media), I shudder to imagine what it will be like in another 50 years.
RG it seems to me that there’s somethings going on in society today that I would have never imagined would happen 24 years ago when I first became a Christian; do you have that feeling too looking at our country and world??
Absolutely! I saw the media go from black and white to color, and that kinda marked the beginning of the change from a conservative bias to liberal. Some of it was good (like civil rights) but it didn’t settle for positive change. Soon, it was attacking everything conservative with no option for compromise; now we can’t even agree to disagree anymore.
These are perilous times. Romans 1.18-32 is on display. There is a stark contrast between the children of light and the children of darkness.
5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:
7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,
10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
11 For there is no partiality with God. (Romans 2:5, NASB)
Let us hope and pray we don’t experience the same persecution as the early church. Nevertheless, if we do, it will be to God’s glory.
He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; (Acts 1:7, NASB)
We are to:
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19, NASB)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Unbelief and Its Consequences (Romans 1:16, NASB)
God is the One who changes hearts and lives. He adds to our number daily which can change things in the earth.
46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. (Acts 2:46, NASB)
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17, NASB)
Let us love God and one another. I am thankful, grateful for and love all the brethren in this post.
13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. (1 John 3:13, NASB)
Wow I thought about Romans 1 writing this post and that passage is very relevant!
You’re right. S&G advocates will say the school was a hostile environment for those contemplating transgenderism like the shooter. A 2021 article stated that the Tennessee state legislature was 2nd in the nation only behind Texas in enacting “anti-S&G”/transgender laws and that the transgenders in state feel like they’re under siege.
Wow didn’t know about that with the state laws and all. Let’s pray for these Christian families that lost loved ones…so heavy!
Thanks for the insight brother. I agree we are headed rapidly towards massive persecution.
Jesus said it. it is normal for a disciple. Why? Because following Jesus and living in His righteousness threatens so many. Want to find out how threatening it is? Proclaim the truth to the “new atheists” and see what happens. Live in a socialist or communist country and follow Jesus.
We have gotten comfortable in the U. S. It is coming.
“Happy are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. | Matthew 5:10–12
God’s people have always faced persecution. The prophets were reviled, tortured, and killed. History records that ten of Jesus’ disciples were executed for preaching the Messiah. Tradition states that Peter insisted on being crucified upside down because he counted himself unworthy to die in the same manner as his Master. Yet he wrote, “If you are reviled for the name of the Messiah, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you” (1 Peter 4:14).
Good word. Persecution has been picking up in the states. Relevant passages that you quoted
These are crazy days.
Indeed it is, you are right
We really do live in crazy times. We need to pray for and with each other. I know that with God , nothing is impossible, he’s always by our side and will help us overcome the challenges we face.
Amen Gloria we need to pray for one another. Thanks for sharing that!
Anytime 🤗
Thankfully Western Christians face no persecution at all. Just criticism.
Sadly,I think you’re right, Jimmy.
I think so too sadly
