For the Christian, parenting is an important responsibility.
As a parent myself I know sometimes that as a father I can go through my responsibility as a routine.
As a pastor I know sometimes parents can also not realize there’s a lot of things in culture, society, home and within the family that can hurt our children; parents can have blind spot.
Biblically we know also there’s spiritual warfare going on.
And Satan wants to destroy anything good from God; including the family, and that includes children.
Do you realize that?
I was thinking a lot about it this past week.
I came up with an alliteration of 8 Ms to watch out for:
- Murder. Think about abortion in the West. This past week I also seen some confidential source of persecution of Christians; its hard to hear children of Christians being killed through the military.
- Misinform. Think false doctrines and false views about God, the Bible, Christ and Salvation. This can be through cults, false theology and also what’s taught in schools in the name of knowledge (so-called).
- Mistrust the Bible. Anything will be said to lead someone to think the Bible cannot be believed.
- Mocking of parents. Have you seen how entertainment portray fathers these days? It is a time of “Father knows nothing.”
- Motivation to sin. That is, Satan is tempting our children to lie.
- Moving away from faith. Apostasy of children.
- Misgender. I think we see that in the news.
- Mutilate. The logical conclusion of point 6.
In some ways Satan is doing some of these things also with all generations including adults.
I suppose if we are not aware of Satan’s attack in our life we would even be less aware to protect our children.
Let us be conscious of these.
The evil one has been working for a very long time but today is working in over time. I do believe something powerful is in the making and there soon want be any question of who is in charge.
You are right. Overtime capture exactly what Satan is doing. Good point.
Our kids are grown up now, but I remember the battles we had over moral issues in their schools (10 plus years ago now). I am horrified when I hear what Christian parents are having to fight against in schools today. As grandparents I reckon it won’t be long until we face these 21st Century issues again in education, albeit in a lesser capacity.
Thanks for sharing that with also what is faced in Scotland. I imagine hostility to Christ and what is right had only increased in Scotland too?
Absolutely, as I see it at least we had the final say in what happened with our kids. But now as I understand it parents don’t have much of a say in their child’s education.
When I see what’s happening to our kids, I can’t help thinking about the verse “Rachel weeping for her children.” Pharaoh had the Words Hebrew male children killed at birth before the time of Moses. Herod did the same around the time Jesus was born. Are we poised for a major deliverance event in light of the current situation? Marana Tha! Come, Lord Jesus!
Not sure how “words” wound up in there. 😳
This post reminded me of this poignant song by Michael Card:
Here’s another version, with a real tear-jerking ending…
May the Lord come quickly! I think “Words” end up there since you are all about the WOrd of God!
Re: 8. Mutilate. Goes with point 7 too. 😢 I suggest a ninth, which is kinda my story when young.
9. Meander. “Have fun with your life now, you have plenty of time to get right with God later.” Contrast Prov 1:32, the complacency of fools destroys them.
Wow that is a good one to add; Meander is definitely one of them!
Excellent post, Jimmy.
(I love the picture of the little kid with the well-used Bible. ❤ )
Thanks! I suppose Satan would really hate that! Hence his tactics!
Of interest here is that the word “androgyny” is from the Greek andr- (man) and gynē (woman). Though it is generally thought of as denoting sexual/gender ambiguity, the word can be understood as connoting both male and female: male/female. Some esoteric literature posits that the human condition was originally androgynous, later became separated into man and woman, and the end goal is to become both/and “again”. In addition, note that the Baphomet has a goat head, breasts like a woman, yet other characteristics of a man–purposefully “androgynous”.
Wow I never knew how androgyny was spelled; so I learned two things here from you
Though I didn’t spell it out, one might ask if it’s possible that the notion of “non-binary” could come from such an ideology.
By spell it out I meant state explicitly–I see now how that could be confusing in the context of your reply to my initial comment!
It is sad how many Christians have never heard of baphomet and the after school Satan clubs. My mom has said for years that the push towards androgyny is growing by the day. Can’t imagine what it will be like in 5 years. Satan went after marriages first so it only makes sense that since marriages are falling apart that he would go for the kids next and what better way than to turn children into adults that can’t reproduce. Praying for y’all! Thanks for letting me share my thoughts!
You are probably aware of this: The 2nd century Gnostic ‘Gospel of Thomas’ attributes these words (saying 22) to Jesus, “When you make the two one…and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female…then you will enter [the kingdom]”. In the John Dart and Ray Riegert The Gospel of Thomas: Unearthing the Lost Words of Jesus (Berkeley, CA: Seastone, 2000), the authors write re this saying:
People in my personal life actually use that to affirm transgenderism. God have mercy!!!
I didn’t know that for sure, but I assumed this HAD to undergird the ideology. I have a friend with a child making this self-claim, and I read her this section of the book, supposing this to be the underlying ideology.
Like so many things of today, a lot of these thoughts are repackaged Gnosticism. Like NAR (and New Age/New Spirituality) Christology. As in the penultimate line of the song “Stairway to Heaven”: When all are one and one is all.
Well said to your second paragraph!!! The other thing that I am learning is just how vast and broad Gnosticism truly was. Heresy knows no bounds.
Thanks for the insight. It is increasing becoming very dangerous for our children. We must protect and educate them.
Blessings.
You are right. It should also fuel us to share the Gospel with all this craziness!!

Thanks for the article
Yes, yes, yes…thanks much!
I hope you are doing well!
Good reminder about culture: “there’s a lot of things in culture, society, home and within the family that can hurt our children”
Thanks for reading this; I pray Christians be more careful!
Oh the joy, wonder and gift from God children are to us. We must protect them and point them to the Lord Jesus Christ. Pour his Word into them and remember the fun times at this age and all the others.
Amen to this, amen!
[…] Being Conscious of the Devil’s War on our Children — The Domain for Truth […]
The last points devolve into dangerous misinformation that fuels anti-trans violence, abuse and hate.
Yup, popular culture is very much anti-Bible and anti-God, except for the polite but vague “you’re in our thoughts and prayers.” Children get sucked into this.
DIdn’t think about that one when I wrote this post. You got a point there, there is a lot of use of terms devoid of clarity of meaning. HOw did your Friday go?
Great post, Pastor Jim! I started doing some research yesterday on this very subject. I started looking for all the evil promoted by Disney and other cartoons for children. It is massive. Homosexuality and transgender identity is being normalized, not to mention witchcraft and sorcery. It was so upsetting, I had to put it aside. I vigorously support all parents who homeschool their children or send them to a Christian school. God bless you today, Pastor Jim! Keep speaking Truth!
This is becoming an issue every where. May we continue to speak truth and share the love of Jesus and the Gospel at this time amen??
Amen!
And amen!

Many challenges face today’s parents. I pray that they will keep the Gospel front and center within their families. While my own children are in their 30s and 40s, I frequently pray for my grandchildren.
What a good practice of praying for your adult children and grandchildren
