Last night I talked to a believer who I have befriended online. He has a Youtube channel and he buys and sell things online but he made a Youtube channel about his business and life. As I watched him going to thrift stores I felt he had a lot of wisdom he was giving out for free of what to look for and how to do an online E-bay business. I thought to myself “this man might not have taken graduate course in economics but he understand how economics works than some graduate student I know!” Even better: He’s also a Christian and I felt you sense his joy and humility when he ended the video by saying “God bless” it was very sincere.

As a Christian are you looking for a summary of Critical Race Theory and a brief response from a biblical perspective?  Two Christian apologists, Dr. Neil Shenvi and Dr. Pat Sawyer, have written this booklet explaining what is Critical Theory and also offer an evaluation of it.  This was a lot more balanced than I thought and include nuances.

Ronald Nash. Social Justice and the Christian Church.  Lima, OH: Academic Renewal Press, January 10th 2002. 180 pp.

Want to read a book to understand a biblical worldview concerning the issues and topics brought up in the name of social justice?  This book looks at contemporary beliefs under the web of “social justice” and explains to readers why some the agendas are problematic logically in terms of internally within the advocates’ own beliefs, factually with economics and historical considerations and also biblically.  The work is academic without being dry and I appreciate that the author was nuanced in his writing such as pointing out one as a Christian should have concern for the poor but we must also equally as well be concern about the means to help the poor.  I appreciated that the content in this book did not have a single attack on a person’s character which is so different than today’s politics; instead the content but focused on the issues.  The book was written by the late Ronald Nash which sadly I wished more Christians today would know more about.  Nash is a capable Christian theologian, philosopher, apologist and political and economic thinker who was a two term advisor to the United States’ Civil Rights Commission.  This book certainly didn’t disappoint and was very helpful.

We have quite a stream of readers of our blog from Southern California and I thought it would be helpful to post this.

I have gotten less political over the years and while I do not believe salvation or the kingdom of God is achieved by political means nevertheless I believe Christians must be informed so that when they practice the privilege of voting in the United States they vote not against biblical principles but as much as possible consistent with it.  Over the years California legislature has become increasingly tyrannical against Christians values in the name of “tolerance.”

So here’s the voter’s guide for Los Angeles County for November 3rd, 2020:

Editor note: For those looking for

We have quite a stream of readers of our blog from Southern California and I thought it would be helpful to post this.

I have gotten less political over the years and while I do not believe salvation or the kingdom of God is achieved by political means nevertheless I believe Christians must be informed so that when they practice the privilege of voting in the United States they vote not against biblical principles but as much as possible consistent with it.  Over the years California legislature has become increasingly tyrannical against Christians values in the name of “tolerance” with Assembly Bill 2943 as a recent example which Alliance Defending Freedom Attorney Matt Sharp explain what the implications of this bill means if it is passed:

California AB 2943 makes it unlawful for any person to sell books, counseling services, or anything else that helps someone overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion. As a result, it could be a violation if a pastor encourages a congregant to visit the church book store to purchase books that help people address sexual issues, perhaps including the Bible itself, which teaches about the importance of sexual purity within the confines of marriage between a man and woman.”

Its something to watch out for and like last year’s state legislature attempt with the bill to go against Christian colleges and universities with an LGBT agenda these guys aren’t getting less active but more so.

So here’s the voter’s guide for Los Angeles County:

I just saw Huffington Post had a recent piece written on their front page for their religion column titled “Former Mayor Of Hell Rewrites Bible To Make It Really, Really Gay (NSFW).”  It has the above picture as its main picture to get people to click on it from the religion column.

Basically the article was about a guy making a mockery of the Bible.  You know it is bad when it has to be labeled NSFW which means it is not safe for work.  It’s essentially giving blasphemy against the Bible a platform on a national leftist website and the feel of the article is it was written and shared to make readers laugh.  For a website that talks a lot about fake news, one wonders if this piece that is more fitting for the Onion gets front and center stage as a news coverage where a Youtube comedian is quoted from his childish tweets all to get readers to laugh while the Huff Post writer drops his own lines alluding to the Bible.

I just wonder if Huff Po religion does the same thing with the Quran or with Islam in general like how they post things on the Bible and Christianity…or if there’s a double standard with the editors’ decision of what they select.  Not that I’m encouraging people to desecrate the Quran but I wonder would the Leftists over at Huff Post put similar pieces in content, tone and attention with the Quran?

Someone asked me about my thought about women in their period while on a mission with military “elite” units.  Obviously I’m not a woman so my comment is going to be more on the military side of things.  I imagine that many within such units have reservation about combat units being no longer exclusively all-male.  Here’s my thoughts.

Have you ever seen Monster’s Inc?  If so do you remember this scene?

This was the scene towards the end of the movie in which the character Henry Waternoose, the CEO for “Monster’s Inc.,” a company that sells electric power was about to be arrested who said he’s willing to “kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die.”

Of course a company and its leader willing to kidnap a thousand children for the sake of its company survival is immoral.  Disney Pixar who made this film knows that and the audiences does so too.

I can’t help but to think of the parallel that shows just how different we treat Planned Parenthood, America’s largest company committing abortionists.

So what’s the difference between Monster’s Inc and Planned Parenthood?

Two double standards I want to note.

I evangelize weekly on college campuses.  There’s been more than once where I had a conversation with a “Disingenuous Liberal” usually after a long conversation that makes the following assertion during different moments of the conversations:

It’s like they don’t notice the double standard.  Most of the time how the second premise (“Hitler is a Christian”) get brought up in the conversation is part of a moral objection against Christianity (“Christians have done a lot of evil in history!  Hitler was a Christian!”).  Of course that objection in of itself is not without its problems.  For instance I think those who make such a charge haven’t taken into consideration Hitler was a politician; we should study more carefully Hitler’s beliefs when he was a nobody and when he was in full power which often suggest’s Hitler’s more genuine beliefs when he was less susceptible to the need to appease people for their support.  A great book that explored Hitler’s worldview is the work Hitler’s Philosophers by Yvonne Sherratt.  Hitler is no Christian once one understand his worldview.  Ironically when some progressives hear Christians talk about radical Islam suddenly these terrorists aren’t true Muslims because Islam is peaceful and these “jihadists” are doing things that goes against the Quran.

Related to this is another double standard with “Disingenuous Liberals:”

Two days ago I posted “Quick Thought on the Queen James Bible (LGBT) Part 2.”  That post was a response to a gay friendly Bible called the Queen James Bible.  Part 2 was a specific response to the following statement from the product’s Amazon page:

Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands!

I thought that was a terrible argument against the view that homosexuality is a sin which part 2 of my post dealt with.  However our dear friend who blogs at Eternity Matters even added more firepower against the statement’s flawed thinking which puts the “only eight verses” argument in perspective.  It was too good not to share as a post.

Here’s what he said:
