Cherisse Scott refuted

Planned Parenthood tweeted an article by Cherisse Scott that’s found at http://rhrealitycheck.org/article/2015/10/07/new-billboards-bring-messages-empower-inspire-black-community/.

I want to critique the following paragraph:

Fast forward to 2015, when anti-choice individuals have no problem co-opting the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag to further their agenda of controlling and limiting women’s health-care choices.  And yet, of course, they are nowhere to be found once our children are born. If I found out I was pregnant right now, I would highly consider abortion, if only to spare my child the threat of state-sanctioned violence he is likely to face. It seems from the time a Black child is in the womb, the system starts preparing for a future that will either put that child in prison or in the city morgue. Even now, as a Black mother raising a Black son, I am working every angle at my disposal to ensure he stands a chance striving against the reality of his life—a life that beyond his immediate family structure is not safe. When confronted with the staggering rates of mass incarceration of Black men and boys, why would I subject my child to the very real possibility of legalized slavery? For many Black women, abortions are as much an act of love as bringing a child into this world and raising it could ever be.

Here’s my response:

Today Congress has passed a bill temporarily defunding Planned Parenthood.  As expected Planned Parenthood is all worked up.  Look at their twitter accounts.

Here’s one that stood out to me tonight:

Just in case something happens to the Tweet, this is what it says: “Planned Parenthood is more popular than cheeseburgers. Maybe somebody should tell Congress… #StandWithPP #trending

Seriously?  Where do we even start?

Sometimes some people see the abortion debate in abstract terms and forget the personhood of the babies.

Melissa Ohden, a survivor of an abortion testified this week before a Congressional Committee that was recorded on C-SPAN.

Here is a Youtube Clip of her speech on Capitol Hill:

Various Planned Parenthood Twitter account has retweeted an article defending Planned Parenthood titled “We Should Focus On Condemning Anti-Abortion Extremists, Not Planned Parenthood.”

https://twitter.com/aqiang7/status/635270479465480196

One might wonder why I’m responding to a small piece from a college student at Duke University.  I do think the article is poor quality.  It wouldn’t pass for a college paper.  But then I’m responding to this because this is the type of quality Planned Parenthood wants to promote in defense of itself.  Since it has been deem good enough for Planned Parenthood to share with the public then it’s worth exposing the bad logic found in this piece.

In a tweet railing Presidential candidate Ted Cruz, Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens ‏claimed that there are “polls showing the majority of the American public supports continued federal funding for PP.”

I’ve been seeing Planned Parenthood supporters on social media claiming the moral high gounds with this statistics but I want to definitely interact with someone more official and the executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood certaintly fits the bill.

What is the source for Dawn Laguens’ claim?  She provides a link in her tweet to a Progressive Liberal website called “Think Progress.”  I’m more interested in finding the original source behind her source from a Liberal webpage.

What are we to make of Planned Parenthood’s claim and also the implied argument utilizing this claim?

Refuting Cosmopolitan Abortionist piece

I don’t read Cosmopolitan.  But Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards tweeted a link to an article titled, “The GOP Candidates Completely Disregarded the Reality of Women’s Lives.”  I clicked on it and I’m compelled to respond to the assorted bad arguments.

The part that Cecile Richards and other Planned Parenthood’s twitter account emphasized from the article is how the Republican candidates failed to mention “women” in a recent debate sponsored by Fox News.  Here’s that relevant paragraph:

Abortion was one of the biggest topics during the debate. And whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice, one of the most jarring aspects of the evening was seeing 10 men talking on stage about a medical procedure that nearly one in three women will have in her lifetime – without ever mentioning women. Seriously. If you read a transcript of the debate, candidates don’t bring up a “woman” or “women” even once when talking about either Planned Parenthood or abortion. It’s as if lady folk are just receptacles made for holding and expelling babies, not real people. Even the narrower category of “mothers” was left out of their reproductive rights talking points, save for two instances.

This quote and other portions of the article should be subject to further logical scrutiny.

Planned Parenthood murders babies.

StraightOuttaPlannedParenthoodmurder

The last few days Planned Parenthood’s social media account has been diverting attention from itself and unto #BlackLivesmatter in light of the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson Missouri.

But let’s not forget that Planned Parenthood murders babies.

They hide behind the cry of “Hands up, don’t shoot.”

But where’s the cry, “Hands up, legs and foot.”

Life News has a story “Out of 8,735 Licensed Mammogram Facilities in the United States, Planned Parenthood Runs 0.”  If one were to search on the FDA’s directory on certified facilities that does mammograms there will not be any facilities operated by Planned Parenthood.  So much for the lies that Planned Parenthood provides Mammograms.  I think this should teach us that we need to be careful even accepting their other statistics given their history of lies.

Just in case some people might say that no one ever said Planned Parenthood claimed to have provided Mammograms except for prolifers here’s some proofs that Planned Parenthood and their supporters did advance this lie.
