Our blog has critiqued various bad articles from Huffington Post Religion Section.  Today I saw an article titled “Facebook Hits Back At Conservative Christians Who Want To Add A Cross Button.”  I clicked on it and read it.

Bernie is a Liberal Fascist.

I shudder to think Bernie Sanders was a Presidential Candidate.

Todd Friel of Wretched Radio takes on Bernie Sanders’ rant biblically and logically below:

Senator Bernie need to hear about the ultimate Judge whom he would sit in the dock one day and face and what He has to say about Jesus:

If you haven’t heard the news there’s been riots over at Berkeley over a speaker name Milo.

Some quarter on the Left are the very thing they say they hate about the “other side:” They are intolerant, violent, and oppressive.

In crying fascists they have become the very thing they accuse others are.

I’m posting this to say that that some on the Left who think this is ok need to look themselves in the mirror.

May I make something clear for the Left leaning trolls who want to point fingers at others.

As a Christian I do enjoy flying and the opportunity to share the Gospel (Jesus dying on the cross to save us sinners) with those next to me.  Now of course this must be done in a manner that is Godly and respectful.  It’s also a joy to talk to different people and walks of life.  Up to this point all my conversations have been cordial.

Apparently Christians aren’t the only ones who want to share their worldview.

looney-left

This past weekend a lady and her husband was kicked off their flight because the wife was berating a Trump supporter flying home after the inauguration.

Let’s just say she did not talk to the Trump supporter in a Godly manner.

Here’s my two cent.  I realize my tone is stronger than usual but I think it captures just how dangerous some on the Left have become in their intolerance.

I’m not white but I don’t like racism when I see it, even when they are against whites.

On October 21st, 2016 some students at UC Berkeley stage a protest in which they block public walkways to white people.

So much of today’s Social Justice Warriors are hypocritical double standard racists.

See it for yourself:

Can you imagine if this was reversed and minorities were blocked?  Imagine the outrage.  But when its against whites…its okay?

This is evil.

This is intolerance in the name of tolerance.

Secularized self-righteous Leftist Pharisees is a frightening thing to see.

Note: This is an urgent guest post by one of our readers we are sharing this immediately given that this is threatening tolerance of Christian beliefs of the Bible.

By B Dub

Freedom of religion is a central feature of our liberties as Americans.  It is a right affirmed in the First Amendment.  Once a society starts stripping its citizens of their essential freedoms, including religious liberty, it cannot long survive as a free society.  There is a bill in the California assembly numbered SB1146.  It could potentially be very bad for California Christian Colleges and Universities.

As of the Time of this writing it has passed the California Senate and is making its way through the California Assembly and is being review in committees.  As it is written now, it could cause real problems for religious institutions in California.  Once it makes it to Jerry Brown’s desk, he is likely to sign it.

The advocates of the bill claim it as a non-discrimination policy, but it disallows religious institutions to uphold their beliefs.   In this way it is in fact discriminatory. It says that religious requirements must be approved by the state. It could be a problem for a college enforcing their moral beliefs stemming from the religion.  For example they wouldn’t be able to talk against homosexual marriage or abortion.   This section in particular is biggest issue:

Nothing in this section shall be construed to permit discrimination on the basis of disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that is contained in the definition of hate crimes set forth in Section 422.55 of the Penal Code, including the perception that the person has any of those characteristics or that the person is associated with a person who has, or is perceived to have, any of those characteristics.

As you can see, by the wording it claims to not be discriminatory.  That couldn’t be further from the truth.   By not allowing religious institutions’ freedom of conscious, it discriminates against their ability to enforce principles in accordance with their beliefs.

The whole text and history of the bill can be found here for reference and context.

Here is what several religious institutions in California are saying and how it affects them:

Concordia University Irvine: http://www.cui.edu/aboutcui/sb1146

Biola: http://now.biola.edu/news/article/2016/jun/08/preserve-faith-based-higher-education/

Western Baptist University: http://www.opposesb1146.com/

As well as another blogger talking about it.

What can be done?

Those of you in California contact your representatives.  Even if you are not you can still contact them.  Urge them to vote no.

If you don’t know who your representative is, you can find out here.
http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/

Tell your friends about this.  Let the word get out about this and why this bill is bad news.

Also, prayer is always encouraged.

Here is a site with more suggestions on what to do.

liberal hypocrisy against Christian making them islamic

Over at liberal Huff Po Religion there is a piece I want to respond to that’s titled “Did Jesus Predict Muhammad?”  I’m responding to this because it’s a terrible article that no doubt probably has many people reading it but one that is plague with the lack of clear thinking.  HuffPo Religion often have articles that provides many examples of how not to do theology.  This is one of them.

Our writer begins his essay saying

The time has come for Christians and Muslims to make peace between our communities. Christians and Muslims already make up more than half of the global population, and these numbers are expected to grow in the coming decades; according to the Pew Research Center, by 2050, two thirds of humanity, some 5.7 billion people, will be either Christian or Muslim.

Our planet simply cannot afford another century of misunderstanding and violence between these two communities. The challenges we face as a global human family are profound: ongoing warfare and nuclear proliferation, global poverty and economic inequality, climate change and ecological degradation. How will humanity handle these crises and others if our two largest religious communities are embroiled in constant conflict, if misunderstanding defines our relationship?

Response:

  • As a Christian I definitely don’t want violence between Christians and Muslims.
  • What does our writer think is the source of the problem of lack of peace between these two communities?  It’s very telling when he says “Our planet simply cannot afford another century of misunderstanding and violence between these two communities” and “misunderstanding defines our relationship.”  According to the writer it’s a result of misunderstanding between the two communities.
  • I do think there are misunderstandings among those in the two communities.
  • But misunderstandings is not enough of a reason to explain violence.  People often have misunderstanding of my ethnic minority background.  But that doesn’t mean somehow there’s violence done towards me in of itself.  It’s an inadequate explanation on the part of the author; ironically, it’s a misunderstanding that doesn’t account for radical Jihadists who commit violence against Christians who have been exposed if not even raised up in largely Western countries where one can’t just say it resulted from a mere misunderstanding.  Something deeper and more complex is going on and the author’s explanation is too simplistic.
  • If one identify what’s the problem wrongly, then don’t be surprised that the solutions offered would also be wrong.

So what’s our writer’s offered solution?  Here’s one suggestion he offered:

starbucks red cup

I’m not so much concern with some silly Christians complaining about some red cup as I am with the inconsistency of the people who belittle those Christians and then turn around and think its okay to sue a business if they somehow don’t cater for certain celebrations.

Tony Miano evangelist

If you have read our blog for any time the name Tony Miano would not be unfamiliar.  A former Sheriff Deputy and a Christian evangelist in the Open Air scene, Tony was arrested in Scotland on January 8th, 2014.  It seems the charge against him has something to do with the mention of homosexuality as a sin.  He was eventually released although he has to go back to Scotland for trial later in April.  Declaring homosexuality as sin has become a violation of the blasphemy code of the Left.

Christian Concern has the story:

Christian Legal Centre client, Tony Miano, was arrested this week after a woman complained that he had spoken about sexual sin.

The Christian street evangelist was remanded in custody overnight and later released on bail to appear before Dundee Sheriff’s Court on 22nd April.

Tony, who is a former Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff, was arrested on 8th January on a charge of alleged breach of peace with “homophobic” aggravation.

He was part of a street preaching team holding a week-long mission in Scotland.

He was the second of the street pastors to address lunchtime shoppers in Dundee High Street. He talked about the nature of sin; about the different sins that Jesus had come to save people from when a woman began to shout at him.  He was preaching about sin in general and when he mentioned sexual sin including adultery, promiscuity and homosexual practice, the woman shouted that her son was gay.

Mr. Miano’s colleague, Pastor Josh Williamson of the Craigie Reformed Baptist Church in Perth, who was present at the incident explains: “Tony wasn’t focussing just on homosexual practice – it was about all sin. A woman was yelling at him and her friend noticed we were filming the preaching, so she ran up to me and tried to smash my camera.”

He says the first woman then appeared to be calling the police on her mobile just as a council warden came along and said that while we were doing nothing wrong, and had the right to free speech, we should move on.

Mr. Miano finished his preaching in a few minutes and as the street preachers packed up two police officers arrived.  At this point Pastor Williamson says the women shouted that they would get the preachers arrested.

“The female officer saw we had a camera and lunged for it and then the male policeman grabbed it and threw it in the police van,” says Pastor Williamson.

He says the male officer interviewed the women and then immediately arrested Mr. Miano, but did not question him or explain why he was being arrested.

“After Tony was put in the police van I asked why he was being arrested and was told it was for a breach of the peace and for using homophobic language,” says Josh Williamson.

Tony appeared before the Sheriff’s Court on 9th January, where he pleaded ‘not guilty’.  He has been bailed to appear for trial at Dundee Sheriff’s Court on 22 April but is free to return to his home in the United States

Andrea Minichiello Williams, Chief Executive of the Christian Legal Centre, says the incident raises serious questions about police procedure and understanding of the law in dealing with such incidents.

“This appears to be an overzealous reaction by the police. The incident, adds to the number of arrests of Christian street evangelists for preaching from the Bible. It is indicative of the suppression of the freedom to speak  and live out the words of Jesus Christ in public and present the teachings of the Bible,” says Andrea.

She adds that the Christian Legal Centre is ready to serve anyone who is challenged for expressing their Christian beliefs.

“At the Christian Legal Centre we are committed to helping people to continue to preach the Gospel in our nation.”

Tony Miano was arrested in July last year, in London, for alleged ‘homophobic’ comments. The case was dropped.

Tony has also told his side of the story on the Janet Mefferd Show which one can listen to online by clicking HERE.

On his facebook page Tony Miano also posted the following account of his time in jail:

“Well, as many of you have heard, after about 28 hours, I’ve been released from jail. Pray for Robert who heard the gospel this morning as we shared a holding cell while we both awaited our court appearances.

Will be on The Janet Mefferd Show in just a bit. Then preaching tonight’s evangelistic service at Craigie Reformed Baptist Church – Perth, Scotland.

Operating on about an hour’s sleep over the last two days. Josh Williamson’s phone has been ringing non-stop for the last 24 hours.

May the Lord use all of this for his glory.

Last night in my cell, I read all of the Book of Acts and Luke 1-17. A verse that really struck me, bringing me to tears, was Luke 17:10.”

We shall see how this story develop.

contradiction

Over the years I have noted in the blog of the incredible intolerance coming from the Tolerance crowd: From last year’s frightening Hatred of Pro-Homosexual advocates against Chick Fil A to last month’s Christian preachers being attacked by hate mongers during PrideFest 2013: there are more and more examples of this on the news with each passing day.  If one doubt that Secular Humanism is a religion, look at the Left’s Political Correctness becoming the new blasphemy codes.

Two news story stood out this week:

(1) Gospel singer and Ex-Gay Donnie McClurkin have been axed out from MLK memorial concert by the Mayor of Washington D.C. after pressure from Gay Rights Activist.  Or should we say political correctness “Hack-Away”-ist.

(2) Then there’s the story of Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk Punished for Objecting to Gay Marriage.  My, how the situation has changed in our military:  At one time being openly homosexuality was forbidden then we get Clinton’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy” and now being against homosexuality in one’s personal view can bring about consequences for a service member’s career.

What now?

As Christians we need to keep on standing for what is right and speak out against what is false and sin.  Yet we must not forget to lead the discussion to the Gospel and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior of our sins.  We must also keep on pressing the antithesis by challenging the idolatrous worldviews driving the attack against Christianity while also noting the inconsistencies and rational dilemma of those who attack the Christian worldview.  The best way to get to the worldview behind the attack against Christianity is to ask for the basis for their morality–given that they believe we *OUGHT to be tolerant and loving, where does this oughtness and moral obligation comes from?

We are living in a time where we need believers to have more Gospel clarity and a wholistic, Biblical and Presuppositional apologetics in engaging the World.  Never forget to share the Gospel Hope of how sinners can be made right with God by God’s Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone in Christ Alone.

This occurred on June 30th 2013.

Some stress tolerance so much they end up being intolerant.  Ironic isn’t it?

Here’s the Police blog about it HERE where we learned two men were arrested.

Do you think the homosexual community would come out to condemn the assault on Christians freedom of speech and expression?  It would be nice to see that.

It’s frightening to note the amount of hate and intolerance of some of those who are for gay Marriage and dislike Chick Fil A.

And don’t forget the news of Chick Fil A being vandalized at Torrance and at St. Louis area.
