There recently was a four way debate/discussion/dialogue on apologetics’ methodology. By apologetics I mean the art and science involved with defending the faith.
This Youtube event was an event by Explain Apologetics.
I haven’t seen the discussion but I’m saving up here as post for reference.
This is a debate on New Testament Reliability. It is between the apologist James White and someone who has been questioning the New Testament name Lee Baker. Lee Baker is a former Mormon bishop and former Evangelical who has become a vocal critic of Christianity.
This debate took place at Christ Presbyterian Church in Magna, Utah (www.gospelutah.org), on October 5, 2019. Please pray for Lee Baker.
On April 22nd, 2017 Christian apologist Doctor James White presented on the topic of New Testament Reliability for South Dakota Apologetics at Parkview Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. The reliability of the New Testament is one of Dr. White’s field of study.
This was a debate from last night that was streamed live on Youtube between Christian apologist James White and Joe Ventilacion. Joe is advocating for the cult Iglesia ni Cristo.
Here’s the debate:
Here’s the description:
Dr. James White of Alpha & Omega Ministries debates Bro. Joe Ventilacion of Iglesia ni Cristo, moderated by Dale Bartcher of Family Heritage Alliance. Dr. White defends the affirmative: “The Bible teaches that within the one Being that is God there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Bro. Joe Ventilacion argues the negative. This event is held in Rapid City, SD, in the Best Western Ramkota Convention Center at 6PM MST, on April 21st, 2017. This event was arranged and coordinated by the ministry of South Dakota Apologetics.
If you have been noticing since last year’s Supreme Court decision concerning gay marriage, the LGBT community has proceeded to go from bad to worst. Certain quarters of that movement have been pushing their agenda to even more extremes.
Christian apologist and debater Dr. James White have recently returned from overseas teaching theology in South Africa and England. While in South Africa Dr. White spoke on the topic of “Scripture and the LGBT agenda” at Cape Town, South Africa. The message was given on May 7th, 2016 and can be seen on Youtube and found below:
James White discusses the revealed nature of the Quran and whether it is the Word of God with a Muslim Imam name Muhammad Musri. This debate took place on March 21st 2015 at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando Florida. Alpha Omega ministry has just loaded up the debate on Youtube recently!
As more and more books are hitting the market promoting the idea that God permits homosexual relationship, the more urgent it is for Christians to know how to respond.
Among the popular books promoting the idea of the gay Christian is Matthew Vines’ book “God and the Gay Christian.” James White has refuted this book in the following audio on Youtube. Dr. White spends over 5 hours total to refuting Vines!
Did the Earliest Followers of Jesus Believe in His Deity? Christian apologist James White debates Muslim apologist Shabir Ally concerning this question at University of Pretoria, South Africa. The debate took place on October 8, 2013 but has just been loaded up online two days ago.
Earlier in December I wrote a piece concerning the recent Newsweek article attacking the Bible titled “The Irony of Kurt Eichenwald’s Ending in His Newsweek Article Attacking the Bible.” Originally I was going to write a series of posts responding to Kurt’s hit piece but the Holiday season made it difficult. But alas, there is nothing new under the sun and fortunately there have been many Christian responses to the article already. Rather than be redundant, I thought I share in this post some of the responses out there available online already.
I think Christians responding to the article is good; it’s sad for me seeing how some people would only look up to these routine sensational pieces from Time and Newsweek and think it is serious scholarship against Christianity when there are scholarly responses out there. I think the ignorance and pseudo-scholarship is so bad it’s a sin.
