Can God use the persecution of Christians for the good of bringing nonbelievers to Christ?  Christians would know the right answer is yes yet many would not to be persecuted if they don’t have to be.  In this booklet famous preacher and evangelist George Whitefield wrote us something encouraging and edifying with a look at Saul and how God changed this man that persecuted the church to become an Apostle and incredible Gospel preacher name Paul.  While George Whitefield delivered us his words hundreds of years ago (he lived from 1714 to 1770) I think what he has to say is relevant for 21st Century believers as the world gets more secular and persecutions of Christians is on the rise worldwide.

This is the third Banner Board Books for kids that I purchased to read to my young preschool age daughters.  I enjoyed the first two so much that I decided to order the other two Banner Board books.  These are great resources to introduce godly historical figures from church history to young kids that still need their parents to read to them and also for those who are starting to read.  This particular title was on George Whitefield, the famous eighteenth century English Gospel preacher who evangelized in both Europe and North America.

As we approach the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation I thought it would be timely to also share this book review of a biography of an important Reformed preacher in Protestant history: George Whitefield.

Many years ago I heard John MacArthur say that when he’s on vacation he often read an encouraging Christian biography.  I started reading this biography on the famous George Whitefield while on a short family vacation and I’m glad I read it since it was encouraging and spiritually edifying.  This book is part of “A Long Line of Godly Men Profile” series published by Reformation Trust Publishing and like the other two works in this series that I read this particular volume did not disappoint.
