For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: Have Christians been raised with Christ?
Here are the answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:
Yes, they were raised in baptism through faith.
“having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” ( Colossians 2:12)
“Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1)
No, they will be raised after they die.
“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,” ( Romans 6:4-5)
“Behold, I am telling you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
