Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas.  This is by Tom.  Tom is a dear brother and friend on Worpress and I appreciate his faithfulness and ability to write so many posts on here.  His blog be found here.

As a Christian blogger, I can testify to the blessings of participating in the Christian blogging community. We get to read inspiring and informative messages from our brothers and sisters in the Lord and we get to pass along some Scriptural truths we have learned and how they have impacted our lives. Over the years, many bloggers have blessed me personally and there’s some that have become my friends. We share our joys and challenges and regularly lift up each other in prayer. Most of us Christian bloggers consider our blogs as a ministry to reach out to the lost with the Gospel and encourage the brethren.
However, being a Christian blogger can have a few pitfalls as well. Below are some that come to mind:

Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas.  This is by Micah Dao.  I actually want to interact more with his blog when I get back.  His blog be found here.

My wife and I currently lead a small group bible study for college students and the topic of dating came up. It was with great trepidation that I even entertained the thought of devoting an entire evening’s conversation to such a topic, however felt the need to address what I later learned were relevant and serious questions. In the end, we spent very little time talking specifically about dating because I realized so many of their questions had a deeper question behind them.

Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas.  This is by  Patrick of Cave to the Cross Apologetics. His site be found here.  It is a treasure trove of book discussions on sound biblical theology and apologetics.

1,518,207,412.

That is the number of websites existed at the beginning of this year.

32.8 million.

That is the number of books you can buy from Amazon.

Today we are able to gorge ourselves in a feast of information that would have made the scholars in the Library of Alexandria faint from overload. We are more connected to different people. We are able to interact with different ideas and groups. We are able to access news from the other side of the world as it’s happening. We are able to access all that information while doing the most mundane activities from a small handheld device that would have been science fiction 30 years ago. We are gluttons for information.

Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas.  This is by  Scott Sullivan. Scott is a slave to Christ and husband to his wife, Angie. He is an artist and writer, living in the beautiful countryside of Lancaster, PA,  where he wrote his first book diving into his life as an adoptee on a journey of faith, family, and belonging.. He can be found at: SullysBrain.com

When I wrote my first book, I began by talking about how I felt that I was born three times. The first was the day I came into this world. Then, just days after being born, I was adopted into a second family to be someone else’s son. It was as if, just three days after being born, I was born again into a new life with a new family.
My life was changed drastically when I became a son in a third family. I was born again, but this time, as a child of God. I put my faith in Jesus during my late twenties. As John wrote in the fourth gospel:

Hello, dear ones, my name is Lauren Hereford and I write the Tulips & Honey Hub blog. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to write this guest post for my dear friend, and brother in Christ, Jim. I’m joining with you all in praying for him, to see much fruit, and to return home safely. What a blessing it is, though many of us cannot go, we can pray for those that God has sent. Thank you, Jim, for giving me the honor of writing in your place while you diligently serve the Lord.  (more…)

John 12:27-33RSV  “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify thy name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”  The crowd standing by heard it and said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not for mine. Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast out;  and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” He said this to show by what death he was to die.”

As the university year commences, around 14.5 million students in the US will either begin or return to their studies. How can we support students and academics to serve Christ in an often secular environment?

Serving in campus ministries, like UCCF or Intervarsity, offers great opportunities for fellowship, to engage in evangelism and Christian leadership.

But, we also need to be careful not to separate our lives into ‘spiritual’ and ‘secular’ compartments. As Abraham Kuyper reminded us, the sovereignty of Christ has implications for every aspect of our life:

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!”

Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas.  This is by Daniel M. Klem.  His blog be found here.  This is part of a series he’s doing for his blog!

I have a short series! I am taking you through some of the sayings of Jesus that can be … confusing … difficult … misapplied … whatever!

What does this mean? I will look at passages that I have personally heard misapplied, misunderstood, or simply confusion expressed over what Jesus meant.

Now, what is our passage today?

Judge not …

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.”

Matthew 7:1-6, ESV

Perhaps you have heard (or even said yourself) “The Bible says don’t judge!” It is often also said with something along the lines of “Stop judging me” or them.

Obviously, if we tell someone that what they are doing is wrong or may not be good, we are judging that person and condemning them.

But are we judging people?

I must admit that I feel woefully unqualified to give even an accurate picture on the state of the UK church, as a humble layman tucked away in the North East of England.

But I do have a perspective, albeit limited, on what my experience has been of the UK church, and that is what I feel led to share on this blog- thanks Jim for the opportunity. It will be very much a personal perspective rather than a authoritatively scholarly one!

What’s the longest you went without a bath?  Or better yet, how do you enjoy being around someone who haven’t taken a bath?

What’s amazing is how many Christians don’t take a shower or a bath spiritually speaking.

Christians, have you realized that the Great commission from Jesus requires you to disciples others?  How are you doing with this task?  If you realize that command is for you and that making disciples of others is the most important thing you ever would do in light of eternity you would see it as a great responsibility and privilege to be discipling others.  Yet how do you go about making disciples?  This book is helpful in answering that questions.  It was definitely helpful for me and wife to read this as our evening devotion and spiritual discussions after the kids are asleep.
