I’m way behind reviewing the books I’ve read this summer so I’m posting this earlier before our usual Leisure Weekend Reading Review…because Pastors need a break sometimes from heavy theological reading!
This is a book on Israel’s fight against terror. The preface opens up with the story of the US war on terror of going after key ISIS figures but then Segway to the fact that the US adopted some of the method of the war on Terror from Israel’s own covert war against international terrorism. But this book isn’t primarily focused on military operations (though it has that in the book) but the side of the war that focuses on defeating terrorist networks by going after its funding. This work is a fascinating read!

Juan Williams, a former NPR political analyst was fired for his comments on Fox News that he gets “nervous” when he sees people in “Muslim garb” boarding a plane. The President and CEO of NPR (National Public Radio) stated that Williams was not fired for that particular incident, but for offering his controversial opinions on several occasions, which she deemed a breach of journalistic ethics for an NPR analyst.Schiller intensified the existing controversy over Williams’ dismissal when she added that Williams should have kept his Muslim comments between himself and “his psychiatrist or his publicist—take your pick.”
Ron Schiller, the man in the video who is the Vice-President of one NPR’s department voiced his true beliefs about Christians, Tea Party, Republicans, America, Jews and Islam. The video is part of an undercover operation where Ron Schiller was recorded heavily criticizing Conservative groups such as the Tea Party movement, describing them as “fanatically involved in people’s personal lives and very fundamentally Christian—I wouldn’t even call it Christian…basically, they believe in white, middle America, gun-toting—it’s pretty scary. They’re seriously racist, racist people”. He also stated that NPR “would be better off in the long run without federal funding”, defended the firing of Juan Williams, and criticized “anti-intellectual” elements within the Republican Party.
Should they re-hire Juan Williams back now?
Nothing is neutral, not even news. Everyone has a bias.
Why do “people” say that Islam is a religion of peace?

Interviewer: We have with us the lawyer Nagla Al-Imam from Cairo. Welcome. What is the purpose of this proposal of yours?
Nagla Al-Imam: This is a form of resistance. In my opinion, they are fair game for all Arabs, and there is nothing wrong with…
Interviewer: On what grounds?
Nagla Al-Imam: First of all, they violate our rights, and they “rape” the land. Few things are as grave as the rape of land. In my view, this is a new form of resistance.
Interviewer: As a lawyer, don’t you think this might expose Arab youth to punishment for violating laws against sexual harassment?
Nagla Al-Imam: Most Arab countries… With the exception of three or four Arab countries, which I don’t think allow Israeli women to enter anyway, most Arab countries do not have sexual harassment laws. Therefore, if [Arab women] are fair game for Arab men, there is nothing wrong with Israeli women being fair game as well.
Interviewer: Does this also include rape?
Nagla Al-Imam: No. Sexual harassment… In my view, the [Israeli women] do not have any right to respond. The resistance fighters would not initiate such a thing, because their moral values are much loftier than that. However if such a thing did happen to them, the [Israeli women] have no right to make any demands, because this would put us on equal terms – leave the land so we won’t rape you. These two things are equal.

I don’t want young Arab men to be interrogated. I want these Zionist girls with Israeli citizenship to be expelled from our Arab countries. This is a form of resistance, and a way of rejecting their presence.
