A late post today. The last few days I had a hurt back. I don’t think its super serious but it did affected my work.
There were some lessons I gained from this.
- Its important to pray. Modern medicine has its place. But we must not forget to pray. Philippians 4:6 states “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.“
- One benefit of the church is that others can and does pray for you. What a privilege.
- This also stir me to pray for other with more serious or long term health issues. The lesson on prayer is a two way street.
- Another benefit of the church is that others knows more in areas you might not know about and they can minister to you too. Grateful for those with a medical background. Grateful for the brothers that went over with me how I’m lifting weights and the possible injury that resulted in bad form, etc. (Note: I began in August to be fit but I haven’t been the type to sit down and read and watch things so this was a remedy to change things). What a privilege to experience the love of Christ from other.
- We are weak and not as strong as we think.
- We need to be good stewards of our body. It is given to us from God.
- There is a place for rest.
- We should long for the future resurrection where our bodies will be transformed and imperishable and immortal.
- I can’t imagine the suffering Christ went through. This makes me think a bit more about what Christ has done to save us from our sins. What a Gospel: That God would become a Man and die on the Cross in His humanity for my sins! That we would be saved by Jesus Christ if we trust in His person and Work on the Cross! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today if you haven’t trust in Him!
Sorry but lesson learned from people who care.
True. Anything I can pray for you for Beverly?
Yes thank you. My sons former wife is bipolar and being a problem.
When one is hurt or down that’s when people around you show their true colors
Amen! I’m praying for you Jim, God bless you!
Thanks!! I just prayed for your Celiac disease. Anything else I can pray for?
Thank you! Sure, my Mom’s Dad died recently. They will be having the memorial tomorrow. I pray family and friends who don’t know Jesus will come to know Him, and praying for comfort for My Mom and everyone. Thanks Jim!
Wow. Just prayed for that keep us posted yeah?
Definitely. Thanks for praying!
sorry to hear of this. May The Lord bless you during this period of struggle.
Amen, Slim! Pray! I have prayed and received prayer through carpal tunnel, sciatica, tendinitis, all sorts of mechanical problems that I jokingly sometimes call “user fail.” I zigged when I should have zagged.
It’s amazing how healing prayer can be and how amazing our bodies are. The damage we do to ourselves is being healed constantly, daily, so keep the faith, your body is always working to repair itself.
If you ever get into a heap of trouble, I got to put a good word in for physical therapy. It’s pretty incredible how much stretching out and freeing those nerves can help. 🙂
Praying…great post that reminds us not to waste such a great grace of prayer…Blessings today!
Thank you so much for your prayers, that mean a lot! Anything I can pray for you?
Sorry about your back. I hope you are feeling much better today.
Thanks anything I can pray for you Beverley?
do take care Jim—I learned the hard way about two years back when I ruptured two discs—To this day, I have to watch what I do and how I do it as I just did the epidurals and opted out of surgery. Feel better my friend—God has His way of slowing us down one way or another 🙂
Thank you for your comment. Wow we really do not to take care of ourselves and you’re right God has a way of slowing us down! I think often God slows us down to teach us lessons such as the ones I mentioned in this post and also teaching us what really matters…
I totally agree!
amen
Oh my. Many prayers for this
Thanks how may I also pray for you?
If course
That I figure out where my career is going

We’re keeping it parked at home while learning new skills on technology as I become a temporary teacher LOL! By the time I master it they’ll be back in school… maybe?
The twins birthday is Thursday they will be 17! Landon was looking forward to being at school with his friends for his birthday and bringing treats-but we will be at home
Oops!
Celebrating we will make his chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting!
We couldn’t get cookies and cream ice cream on the online shopping so we bought vanilla ice cream and cookies separately and will make our own 😁

For my husband’s and my health, for wisdom, Pastor. He is 76 and I’m 68. Thank y, brother!!
JIm, your lessons shared are a delight, good for us all, even if we have experienced them before. Praying that you know our Lord’s presence and power in your healing; that you are praising Him as you wait and rest in Him. He always knows what we need and wants to be the one who gets the glory. Blessings as you prepare for worship and the Word on the Lord’s Day. 🙂
Thank you for your prayers, I have been praying that the Lord will sustain you and Jerry. How is Jerry doing?
Sorry for your pain, brother, and I will continue to pray. Excellent post, though. Yes, we are weak clay pots and the Lord is our hope!
Thank you for your prayers they mean a lot. Yesterday I was gone from most of WordPress.
