For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: When did the transfiguration occur?

Here are the two answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

Six days after Jesus foretold his death.

““Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” The Transfiguration 17 Six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2 And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.“Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” 17 Six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2 And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.” (Matthew 16:28-17:2)

And Jesus was saying to them, “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.” 2 Six days later, Jesus *took with Him Peter and [a]James and John, and *brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them;” (Mark 9:1-2)

Eight days after Jesus foretold his death.
