This is a series of lectures titled “How Can We Trust the Bible?” delivered by Michael Kruger, president of Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. If you follow this blog for any amount of time you might recognized the name of this scholar for we have shared other resources from him before. For instance see Four Lectures on the Canon by Michael J. Kruger (Free MP3s!) and Video: Michael Kruger on What It Means That the Bible Is Self-Authenticating.
This particular lecture series was presented at Christ Community Church Wilmington.
It consists of 3 lectures and 2 Q&A.
Check it out below:
(Session 1): What Do We Do with the Gospel of Thomas?
(Session 2): Has the New Testament Been Changed or Corrupted?
Q&A #1 (Sessions 1 & 2)
(Session 3): Is the New Testament Historically Reliable or Morally Offensive?
Q&A #2 (Session 3)
Thanks for the great resource! Blessings from King Jesus.
Thanks for these, Jimmy! I’ll be queuing them up for my walks. I’m especially interested to hear what Kruger says about the Gospel of Thomas, which was one of Pagels’ favorites.
You’re welcome, wow good idea for your walks! Let me know what you think of the lectures. I barely finished 10,000 steps yesterday. Hopefully I can go over it today…but first I gotta go sleep!
You’re going to bed at 5 am and I woke up at 4:30 am! Good going on the steps! After doing a ton of physical stuff yesterday, I weighed in this morning at 182 lbs. They’re going to start calling me Slim Tom pretty soon.
Excellent Jim, will repost and also add this as a resource on my “Christian Resources” page. Thank you!
Your’e welcome. Wow what an honor to have this on your resource page! Have a good night/ good morning!
The honor is mine Jim, I’m just small fry. Blessings!

Excellent. Ty.
Thank you for this, brother! Kayleigh was just talking to us about how we know the Bible is Gods Word. I love those kind of questions, and her heart to know truth. I’m going to listen to these to make sure we didn’t miss anything imperative!
Wow I’m glad I shared these then! I know my daughters will be asking what Kayleigh asked. I think in the future I might prepare a homeschooling lessons on this topic! But I imagine you might be making your own series too right?
That’s a great idea! Textural Criticism and Apologetics for kiddos?
Thank you, Jim. I posted your Words of Life today. Blessings for your Lord’s Day.
Wow nice! Thank you for letting me know, been so busy away from the internet much of last night and today and I’m glad to hear this. Is it ok I share a link to it on my blog early tomorrow to give it a maximum exposure on my blog?
Yes, please. Blessings for your worship tomorrow.
Thank you for these videos. I saved them to watch during the week.
Blessings

Thanks Jim! I’ve bookmarked them in my ‘videos to watch’ folder!
Finally finished the first video on my walks. I appreciated Kruger’s info on the Gospel of Thomas and the other Gnostic writings. It fit right in with my recent reading and review of Pagels’ new book.

He’s a clear communicator, knowledgeable and biblical.
Kruger is outstanding. He teaches at our church now and was halfway through this via a Sunday School series before Covid hit.
Wow he teaches at your church??? Do you go to a Presbyterian church? That is so cool!
Thanks for posting this, Jim. I was listening to Kruger and White at a G3 conference last night, and Michael mentioned these lectures. I came to your website knowing if anyone had a collection of them and other good resources; I could find them here.
I’m taking our church in SS through our articles of faith, starting with Scripture with some new believers. Some are coming out of the RCC & others have no faith background. I’ve already had questions about how we can trust the Bible and its canonicity. So these lectures will be beneficial.
Will you be recording your Sunday school and having the audios or videos online? Praying for the Sunday school you are leading
The only SS I’ve recorded was the interview I did with my father as we covered coming out of Pentecostalism/Charistmaticism. I’ve had others encourage me to record; I just haven’t.
