For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Plan a Resurrection Sunday Children’s Care Package.
I imagine that with Covid situation everyone’s church situation is different. No doubt we must not forget about the children in one’s church including those families you might not have seen in a while.
I think its worthwhile to try to plan in some ways an idea of having children’s care package for the upcoming resurrection Sunday. Its not only an evangelistic opportunities with the kids but also a way of getting others mobilize to serve God. So ask around in your church if something like this is planned and if not if this can be something that’s done. Talk to the leaders and those involve with ministering to the youth. Don’t just suggest it, consider how you can help out. This is great for others not involved with youth to help too with donations, delivery, etc.
Our church is going to do this with the children and also some kids whose family have visited our church from time to time (but are not members). I was blessed to see individuals in our congregation mobilize.
Also it doesn’t have to be big. Let’s say the church won’t be able to do a church wide operation. It might be still worth doing this with those whom you might know.
What should you include? Some of the things I saw members have purchased and ordered include arts and crafts materials related to Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. I know some Good News Club with Child Evangelism fellowship or other outreach ministry to kids are having a hard time with public schools closed in some states; but resources from last year can be used this year as an outreach from any volunteers in your church from those ministry. We also include children’s book that shares the Gospel, link trinkets and toys. Still other ideas I can think of include candies, food, pens and stationaries, hand written cards and Gospel messages, verse flash cards related to prayer, Gospel and anxieties, etc. We are also planning to drop it off to every kids’ home with a picture of them getting it so we can make a power point video to let our rest of the Church know and be blessed that we are doing this, just so they can pray and be encouraged and maybe involved with the next opportunity to reach our youth.
Take this Sunday opportunity to seek if this can be done, and be planned or join in what’s already set in motion. Don’t waste this upcoming season to make a spiritual impact.

Great idea brother! We all need to prepare for Resurrection Sunday!
Blessings.
This is such a great idea! I also have some friends kids in mind who I would like to serve in this way! Thank you for your evangelical and missional heart! Love and blessings to you, Nancy and kiddos!!!
Aww thanks! And thank you once more for your Saturday Youth lesson yesterday! I think I emailed the PowerPoint to the kids in the afternoon. Good night for now and have a blessed Lord’s Day!
Thank you for emailing the PowerPoint! I hope you were able to sleep. Prayed for your sermon today! Enjoy time with your family tomorrow!!!
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
This is something our church has regularly done, especially for families at our partner school. Last year we finally got our own volunteer team to help coordinate ideas and delivery.
‘but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)
Daniel
Good idea this will be meaningful for kids even without an Pandemic
A lovely idea. ❤

It was. 🙂

Good idea to give out gift baskets with Gospel themes to children on Resurrection Sunday!
Thanks!! Can’t wait to give them out!! How did your day go? Glad to be done with your work week?
Thanks! It was very busy at work yesterday. I’m always happy to walk out of the building Sunday evenings, but leaving yesterday was particularly sweet.
I hope you had a good Lord’s day yesterday and that you have a good rest day today!
What a wonderful idea! 😊
Thanks brother, how are you??
Well, starting my third week of steroid treatments, I have periods of energy and fatigue. Being diabetic, the prednisone has got my blood sugar higher and the docs are talking about insulin. I should find out more tomorrow. God gets me through it all. Thanks for asking, Jim. May you and all those around you be Blessed.
Inspiring idea! Blessing children with these caring gifts will also evangelize with the entire family. Having worshipped at home over the past year, I feel a bit out of touch. There is no substitute for face-to-face connections.
By the way, this is such a beautiful featured photo and makes me feel sunny inside even though the weather is cold outside. 😊
