Thank you for this set of links, Pastor Jim! Blessings to you and your family!
You’re welcome! Hope you have a good dinner!
Still almost 5pm here. I hope everything is going well with you.
Thanks for the great resources. This series looks wonderful: ” Reforming Apologetics (Wrap-Up)”
Blessings.
Great resources as always
Thanks for checking them out. How did the 4th of July go for you??
Went great for me but very busy because I still do fireworks shows. Had a good weekend but glad it’s over. How was your 4th?
Thanks for another listing brother! I just finished listening to Patrick the C2TC guy interview Dr. Rata. Good discussion! I also note Rata’s demeanor. I caught that he is Romanian. His demeanor/comportment is very typical of that of Polish men I have listened to. It must a be an Eastern European thing.
I was just talking to my wife this week about how one can tell Europeans apart from Americans, with how one speak, move their mouth, manner of walking, etc. Thanks for listening to this! I suspect you will be done with your nun book soon??
Polish men speak with a “know it all” confidence, a kind of arrogance and condescension. Of course, everyone does it in their culture, so they’re not aware of it. Polish women do the same. I think I told you a long time ago how we had 5 or 6 Polish women working in our department at Kodak and management was talking about sending them all to an interpersonal communications class because they were offending so many of their co-workers with how they spoke. Very direct, no filter. I’m not saying Dr. Rata is like that, but there’s definitely a Eastern European confidence in his tone that I’m familiar with.
RE: nun book
I’ve made good progress on the clunker over the past couple of days. Only 70 pages to go. I might finish it by tomorrow if my wife doesn’t ask me to work on any items on the to-do list. I actually read and wrote the review for LSH #2 today. An excellent, fun read. The review for #1 is slated for tomorrow.
Item 7 most intrigued me. Since atheism rejects God it is easy to reject atheism, but some views of Jesus are questionable. In particular I think of churches that support critical race theory as questionable. However, they are not as easy to identify. Of course I think he is mainly talking about gods such as Krishna or Zeus. But these are easy to dismiss since they explicitly aren’t Jesus.
Yeah we got to be for unbiblical things that sneaks into the church like some of those woke stuff; glad we are on the same page with that. Have a blessed day brother
Appreciate “Cave to the Cross’ Old Testament Christianity – Ep. 131 – Interview With A Pastor – Dr. Tiberius Rata” and “The Final Reference Point of All Predication”
Reblogged this on My Logos Word.
Thank you pastor Jim.
Thank you Crissy! Have a blessed weekend as much as possible with everything 😢
Van Til acknowledged people don’t see God.
It’s biblical.
Here’s passages of how men naturally don’t seek God ==
Psalm 10:4 – In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
Isaiah 65:1 – “I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
Isaiah 64:7 – There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities.
John 3:20 – “For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.”
Romans 3:10-12 – “no one seeks for God.”
But when the Gospel saves the changing of one’s mind by the Spirit is antecedent and basis for the change of one’s heart.
