For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Discuss with a Youth what they learn from mid-week Youth Group.
The youth in our church are important. They are the future generation of the church. So we should care about them. And one way to encourage them with the things of God is to ask what they learned from mid-week Youth group.
Now our church youth group is really super small. We didn’t have one for many years. One good thing that happened in 2020 despite all the difficulties of that year was that we were finally able to start a small youth group. Ours meet on Saturday
I count our blessing with our small youth group since I remember how many years I tried to restart the youth group but had difficulties and challenges. Also for some of the kids attitudes, some of them change dramatically with their response to the things of God.
So this Sunday I want to talk to them. But I also want to encourage all of us to ask them what they learn. Let’s see our church responsibilties to our youth be one that we all can take part in: By discussing with them what they learn!

Excellent suggestion brother!
Shalom!
Often I see the youth in our church involved in meet & greet, opening doors etc. I make a point of taking time out to ask their name and chat with them, as I walk on I say a wee prayer for them by name. They need to feel valued and loved in our church.
Alan I am blessed to read this what an example. I hope your comment stir others to do the same! How did your Lord’s day go??
I didn’t have a good day, it started well but I felt unwell through the service and nearly fell during worship which was quite embarrassing. I made a quick escape to get home. There is definitely something going on at present with my balance. I will be contacting my doctor tomorrow I think.
What is great at our church is that most of the youth also are involved throughout. Two regularly help with the words/PowerPoint (when needed), two help with greeting with their parents, and four help with children/nursery. I had one of my young ladies as my teaching assistant in the K-5 Sunday School today. Next week I am preaching Ruth 3, and I had youth volunteer to run the slides, help with collection, and tear down (seeing as we meet in a school!)
This is a great idea. I agree, youth is important and they need to feel as though they are. People showing they have an interest in them will help.
Amen James! I also think we often must be leaders to make a difference but I think for the youth having ordinary members ask what they learn and show interests go a long way. And I am sure leaders appreciate this from all members doing this!! Blessings to you I just prayed for your ministry today
Good exhortation! It’s easy to just “assume” teens are learning at church (and at home), but the more they are engaged and participate/apply the better.
Well stated. So often we can assume people are learning. Even if they are talking to them reinforce and fortify lessons learned! How is your shift today?
Thanks, brother!
RE: shift
Despite not having any orders today, I’ve managed to stay somewhat busy with audit-type work.

Amen.
Our church has excellent ministries for the youth, which is good. And they do need our prayers and encouragement.
That is so encouraging to hear that with your church; I just prayed for your church’s youth ministry and also the youth themselves too!
Thank you pastor Jim .
Great encouragement. Our youth are important and vital to our local churches continuing in future generations.
Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
Working with youth through a variety of faith-based platforms is as much of a blessing to the adults as well as the youth.
Praise the Lord for the young people in our church; may God give them grace to understand the gospel. Thank you for sharing this SlimJim ☺️.
Love this. There’s so much for everyone to do on Sunday!
