Choosing Hats has brought to my attention Justin Taylor’s blog post on how Van Til might be the most important Christian thinker after Calvin here.
I thought it was appropriate to point out another “Van Til” thing over at the Gospel Coalition website. They have a four part lecture series from Greg Bahnsen back in 1994 that is free and available for downloading. I don’t know how long they have been up there for but I just recently found them! Enjoy.
Van Tilian Apologetics, Part 1 of 4
This makes me happy. Glad to see Van Til getting some credit where it’s due.
Indeed! Blessings to you brother and your family!

The Bahnsen links do not work
I’m sorry it doesn’t work anymore…it was not working after the Gospel Coalition updated their site; then suddenly last week there was a surge of readers clicking on our blog and I checked it and it was working again but now it’s not.
Thank you for stopping by at my blog and for liking one of my posts. May the Lord richly bless you more abundantly in the name of Jesus Christ.

[…] Worldview matters concerning alleged Bible contradictions. Discussing Bible contradictions doesn’t happen in a vaccum. Presuppositional apologetics is conscious of how worldviews shapes one’s interpretation of what are evidences, facts, and the laws of thoughts. Debating and dialgoue about Bible contradictions presupposes the existence of the laws of logic. As Greg Bahnsen and Cornelius Van Til have argued, only the Christian worldview can account for the laws of logic. So its worth exploring whether a skeptics’ worldview can even make the laws of logic intelligible. If their own worldview destroys the laws of logic, then there’s no place for them to even critique and say the Bible is problematic by being contradictory in the first place. Of course worldview apologetics doesn’t take away the place of examining alleged Bible contradictions and refuting them. But we must not forget that worldviews are important and that if one is arguing for a particular worldview or the rejection of a worldview based upon the claim that the Bible has contradictions, then Presuppositional apologetics must be brought to bear. […] He was recently on a show for the “Trinities Podcasts” which was loaded up online two days ago. The topic: How Christianity Trumps Philosophy. Readers should beware that not necessarily everything associated with “Trinities Podcasts” is orthodox although Dr. Oliphint who is being interviewed is himself orthodox. Since our blog has a new wave of readers I would say if you are new to Presuppositional apologetics its better to start with Greg Bahnsen’s free Apologetics Course. […]
[…] Greg Bahnsen is one of my favorite Christian apologist although sadly he died too young. He has popularized the apologetics’ method of Cornelius Van Til, the father of Presuppositional apologetics. Bahnsen himself is probably best known for his debate with Gordon Stein. If you are new to Bahnsen you should check out this Free Greg Bahnsen Apologetics Course here. […]
