Our “This Sunday” series will be another a 2020 edition with all the unique things during this year. For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Financially support ministries you normally don’t give to.
This past Tuesday the secular world has “give Tuesday” as a day to promote charity following “e-Monday” and the previous “Black Friday.” I thought likewise the Sunday after that we have “Support Sunday” to give to the cause of Christ.
My personal priority is to give to my local church. Then after local church there are also ministries I support. 2020 has been hard financially for many individuals and also for businesses. Ministries also area having a hard time as people struggle with finance with the this year’s COVID, quarantine and lockdown.
I do believe God blesses us when we give. I am not saying this in the sense of prosperity Gospel. There isn’t an formulaic return, like a Bank investment interests. Sometimes that blessing isn’t necessary material or money. Sometimes the blessing is also not even on this side of eternity. But know Acts 20:35b states “remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’’”
Sometimes it can be hard to give when you don’t know who to give to, in terms of knowing those who are doing the work of the Lord.
Full disclosure: My family and I give 25% of our income to the work of the Lord. The need is so much out there that I sometimes wish we had more to give. Giving is something I’m passionate about. So when I’m inviting you to consider giving to the three listed options below its not something you are giving to me; what follows below are giving to others that I recommend. The following three are of various different ministries:
- Stratological Missionary Society (Paypal: danielc865@yahoo.com). This is probably the most bravest missionary I know and probably the one that is most like the Apostle Paul in our day and age in terms of preaching many continents and the persecution he’s received. He’s been attacked in four different continents sharing the Gospel and God has also used him to save lives both physically and spiritually. Given the sensitivity and also his travels to certain area requiring creative access I don’t have a page link but if you are interested still and I know you I can privately give you more information.
- Renewal Missions Inc (Paypal: renewalmissionsinc@gmail.com). This group has distributed many books for children all over the world and I especially like their comic book! The guy who does this has a heart for orphans around the world.
- Church plant in Asia (Paypal: niks_tommy@ymail.com). This individual is involved with a new church plant back in his own home country after ministering in another country where I have met him.
Also some of you know of HeartCry Missionary Society. This is Paul Washer’s organization and they are the few missionary society that I trust in so many ways.
There is also two other giving/fund that our local church support in terms of missions overseas involving seminaries and an orphanage in areas that are very hard for Christians; if you are interested you can contact me and with all the giving specifically for these two areas all 100% of the donation goes to the cause and there’s no “overhead” or “administrative fees” that is to our church (not a single penny ends up with local our church use, it goes overseas all the way!).
I realize not everyone can give financially at this time. You might notice that sometimes when I do book reviews I link to Westminster Bookstore. 100% of any fees from sales through links to Westminster Bookstore goes to the support of getting books for professors and pastors overseas. I’ve been doing that on our blog for years now so good books and new theological resources would equip the men who know English to then further them being equipped so they train others in ministry with solid theology. Every time you guys share my reviews on social media I think the exposure helps as others order books and then it goes to help the cause of Christ.
Also if reading this lead you to consider giving to other ministries that is solid and biblical, praise God! There’s so many ministries out there that need help to do the Lord’s work.

Blessings from mighty King Jesus this Sunday.
Thanks for this exhortation! It is a blessing to support Gospel outreach ministries.
It definitely is a joy to support Gospel ministries! Especially small one that are biblically faithful and lesser known missions oriented ones that I wanted to highlight here. Last night we had to turn on heater and thought of your list of power this past week. Still raining In the rain capital of the US?
No rain today but a thin coating of snow on the ground and currently 34F.

Thank you for the call to action Pastor! GOD bless you, Nancy, and your kids!
You are welcome! Have a good night brother. How has the weather been in the Island?
Thank GOD, sunny and also cloudy but no storm in sight.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God.
I did not know that about Westminster Bookstore, thank you for sharing this!!!
God does love a cheerful giver and I am encouraged by your heart! Thank you for this!!!
Good reminder that the Bible does teach God loves the cheerful giver. This is a motivation to give. Also concerning the testimony you don’t have to have an outline too detailed, don’t want you to get overworked with it though I appreciate very much you suggested it. That’s a good angle you shared of what you wanted to talk to the kids us about! Have a blessed Lord’s Day, hope your weekend went well so far and any state or local restrictions didn’t make it too difficult this weekend!
How are y’all coping with these restrictions? I saw some sheriffs WON’T enforce them.
Thanks for this list of ministries. Blessings today!
Good morning dear servant of God ministries we’re so much happy to know you and the good work you’re doing in Jesus name and first of all receive greetings from Kisii-Kenya .
We’re a young growing ministry yet to register our ministry fully kindly may we request you through your honor that you extend your love of God to us and impact us positively in spiritual growth and Orphans support because we’re determined to reach out to hand capped, sexually abused and less fortunate in the society .
Please may this please your honor as we look forward to hearing from you.
Yours pastor Makori.
Amen.
And amen. Hope you are getting well rested for the upcoming week Maw Maw. Appreciate you liking and commenting on our FB page by the way, they are a big help!
Yes they are.
I give to Samaritans Purse whenever there is a natural disaster in Central America (Volcano Eruption or Hurricanes) and they are one of the few Christian Charities (or any charities) I can trust giving my money to. This year I learned of terrible scandals in the Voice of the Martyrs USA, and it causes me to really investigate even Christian ministries before giving money to them. This year I’m really only able to tithe to my local church
God bless you
We were blessed this year, unexpectedly, when a company that was going to do some work for us kept postponing the job until we could wait no longer. The contractor we got was less experienced than our first choice, but they did a good job – and saved us quite a bit of money! My husband and I agreed to give that money away, and it’s been fun! 🙂
Wow we have the same kind of mindset, what God allows for us to have reduce costs and increase savings we see it as opportunities to give to other causes than what we normally support, and all the ministries I listed here we have given from trying to spend less and have that extra ability to give. I wish more Christians were like you and your husband, thanks for sharing that. I’m sure over the years you have stories of God working through your love gift? God bless you and appreciate it always when you give your input on here. Have a blessed day sister!
Blessings back, Jim. 🙂
Your post is an answer to prayer . Thank you so much pastor Jim. God bless you.
