If you are a Christian for a significant amount of time you would have no doubt ran into people who called themselves Christians but denied the essential doctrine of Christ being God and also the doctrine of the Trinity. No doubt they will throw out verses and argument to say that Jesus was not God. Is there a witty ditty one can have that helps us remember the principle of how to respond to such doctrinal attack on the person and work of Christ?
When people argue against Christ being Divine,
Don’t forget Christ had a human body and mind.
Some of the verses that has been used as proof text to argue against Christ being God doesn’t refute Jesus being God but proves that Jesus is human. Remember the doctrine of the Incarnation is that Jesus is God who took on fully humanity. So verses that shows the humanity of Jesus doesn’t refute Jesus’ divinity.

Thanks, brother Jimmy! Yes, I’m amazed by the people who call themselves Christians and yet deny His divinity. Only God the Son incarnate could live a perfect life and offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.
Amen Tom, I’m surprise myself to be honest because as I grow more in the Word the more I see Jesus Christ is Lord.
I don’t see how one could read the Bible in completeness and not understand the teaching the Jesus was in fact God incarnate. It’s absurd. As with most things taught falsely, this is no more than a plot to inject human works into salvation. If Jesus was not God, then He needs our help to saver ourselves.
Brother Wally,
“If Jesus was not God, then He needs our help to saver ourselves.”<–That's so true. His omnipotence comes into play as one who is mighty to save! If Jesus is not God then all those verses that testify God is Savior in the Old Testament would be false since Jesus is not God. Very good point brother. I'm praying for you and your VBS by the way.
I appreciate those prayers bro Jim. Last night was a good night. I have some students in my class who are not saved, and I am hoping God will give the right words to help them along.
The Muslims claim Christians believe in two Gods or three Gods. I remind them that God put his words in the burning tree (Quran version) to talk to Moses. That didn’t make two Gods- one in heaven and one in the tree. When they put their words into a tape recorder, that doesn’t mean there are now two of them – one in their body and one in the tape recorder. In the same way, God put his Words in Jesus’ body. It didn’t make two Gods or one real God and one imitation one. Jesus Was God’s words walking on earth, just as he walked on earth with Adam and Eve. People have no trouble thinking that, Just because God put his spirit in a dove one time, His spirit remained a dove even to this day. But they have trouble with God putting his Words in a human by thinking his Words remained in human form from then on.
I’m on a tangent here, but many people who call themselves Christians “practice” a non-corporeal faith. By that I mean that they don’t act in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. One very prominent example is in the area of sexual misconduct. There is a tendency to drift with the tide of social opinion, but Christianity without moral and behavioral standards is hollow.
I agree with you Bob. And as a pastor it is always heart breaking to see people drift with the world in opinion and eventually lifestyle and conduct that does not please the Lord. I don’t know if I’m ever going to get use to being sadden by it.
