This is from my daily Greek exercise of sight reading a few months ago, courtesy of Vincent S Artale Jr.

Our text is from the Greek translation of Ephesians 5:2.  Here is my translation:

“SENTENCE 2 καὶ περιπατεῖτε ἐν ἀγάπῃ
And walk in love

SUB-POINT καθὼς ‹+ καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς +› ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς
just as Christ also love us

SUB-POINT καὶ παρέδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν προσφορὰν καὶ θυσίαν τῷ θεῷ εἰς
and gave Himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for

ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας”
fragrant aroma

Our text is Ephesians 2:4. Here’s my translation:

“ELABORATION 3 σπουδάζοντες τηρεῖν τὴν ἑνότητα τοῦ πνεύματος ἐν τῷ συνδέσμῳ
Being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bondage of

τῆς εἰρήνης”

“COMPLEX 4 [TP ὁ δὲ θεὸς TP]
And God

CIRCUMSTANCE πλούσιος ὢν ἐν ἐλέει
who is rich in mercy

SUB-POINT [RR διὰ τὴν πολλὴν ἀγάπην αὐτοῦ
through much of his love

SUB-POINT ἣν ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς RR]”

Being Annoyed with your Spouse

Selected Scriptures

 

Establish the need: Have you ever noticed that what one finds as cute in one’s spouse can be in a few years something you find annoying in your spouse?  Have you thought about what God thinks about your annoyance with your spouse?

Purpose: Today we shall look at three points to help us with the problem of being annoyed with our spouse so that we would have the grace of God to deal with this problem.

  1. Being aware of the symptoms
  2. Biblically evaluate the things you find annoying
  3. Handling annoyance biblically

This is from my daily Greek exercise of sight reading a few weeks ago, courtesy of Vincent S Artale Jr.

Our text is from the Greek translation of the Old Testament known as the Septuagint.  The Greek Septuagint numbering is different than the Hebrew and English Bible numbering and the verse I translated is from the English and Hebrew Psalm 69:5.

Here’s my translation:

“6 ὁ θεὸς, σὺ ἔγνως τὴν ἀφροσύνην μου,
O God you know my foolishness

καὶ αἱ πλημμελίαι μου ἀπὸ σοῦ οὐκ ἐκρύβησαν.”
and my wrongs are not hidden from you

Our text is Galatians 1:8.  Here’s my translation:

 ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐὰν ἡμεῖς ἢ ἄγγελος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ εὐαγγελίζηται ὑμῖν
But if we or an angel from heaven evangelizes to you

παρʼ ὃ εὐηγγελισάμεθα ὑμῖν ἀνάθεμα ἔστω
against the gospel to you let them be accursed
