As I’m going over this with a group of guys from my church I thought the following questions might be helpful for individuals and small groups to facilitate discussions and learning based upon the apologetics’ book “Ultimate Proof of Creation” by Jason Lisle. It is a book that teaches Presuppositional apologetics that engages apologetics at the level of worldview. Cornelius Van Til was instrumental in beginning this form of apologetics and others have developed and applied it.

The questions in this post will be for chapter 10 and conclusion of the book. Each question is followed by page numbers in parenthesis where the answer can be found.
Chapter 10
- What is the response to those who say that the Christian faith needs no defense? (167-168)
- What are the two kinds of authority in giving the reason for one’s faith and why is one of them inadequate? (168-169)
- Can you restate what is the ultimate proof for the Bible? (168)
- What verses support the biblical authority approach (169-171)
- What does Luke 16:19-31 and Matthew 28:17 show about evidences and people’s biggest problem? (171-172)
- What are three responses when it is pointed out that the evidential authority led some to the Christian faith? (172-174)
- What are some biblical examples of the two authority approaches? (174-175)
- What are four responses to those who say Paul’s method in Acts 17 was unsuccessful? (178-180)
Conclusion
- What was some truth that you were reminded of or learned from the conclusion?
May the Lord bless those studying Presuppositional apologetics!
You have been rolling out a lot of solid stuff this week that is crazy especially the comtradictions!!!
I’m reminded that this book was an excellent resource for wrapping my head around presuppositional apologetics. The emails and replies in the appendices really helped me to “pull it all together.”
Wow thanks for sharing that about the appendix; I’m going to go over that when I get back overseas. For tonight I’m going over this my church it’s chapter 10 and the conclusion
I hope the review of ch. 10 and conclusion went well!
Nice post and nice content. I’m a huge skeptic with almost everything in life, and I have my own views on creation and evolution, but I did research the historicity of the New Testament a long time ago and it left me with the conclusion that it’s amazingly accurate and that Christ truly is the Son of God. I firmly believe that no matter by what process the universe came about (science says the “how” Not the “why” as C.S. Lewis has said), the reason for its existence is the eternal God who no human mind can ever possibly comprehend. These apologetics remind me of one of Lewis’ essays collected in the book “God in the Dock”. The essay is “Christian Apologetics”, and it too is a strategy guide for defending the faith.
Great questions included, Pastor Jim. I would love to read this book but I am soooo busy. Maybe someday. I think this book could help me as I discuss this issue, almost daily, on Facebook forums. I’m currently using the “learn as you go” or “learn as you get clobbered” method. I’ve found that fair minded people, no matter what there position is on this, don’t mind what some might consider silly questions. The name callers only show themselves for how they are. I’m still firmly in the YEC camp and it would take some doing to move me.
God’s blessings and I wish you and your family a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. (I don’t mind using the term Easter, but some are offended.)
Thanks for reading this and keep on being a light on facebook groups! Any previous books you read on the topic of YEC you recommend? Always wonder what others would recommend and have read. May the Lord bless your Resurrection Sunday as well brother!
You’re welcome, Pastor Jim. To be honest, I haven’t referred to any personal books I have in my discussions on this topic. I’ll try and remember to look and see what I have. Maybe I’ll share some of the links here to articles that YECs use as time allows.
Thank you for your kind words. May the Lord bless your Resurrection Sunday as well.
